It was funny how people who never cared about you before suddenly acted like you had been best friends forever when you nearly died.

What day was it anyway? It was really hard for Blythe to keep track of the time when he was always so full of pain killers that he couldn't see the clock and slept most if the time. Mostly he just sat and glared at the stupid things on the table next to him. None of these people were actually his friends or most of this stuff would be replaced with other things. At least the guy who had the nerve to try and give him beer had been told that he couldn't bring alcohol into the hospital. He had gotten into a car accident and had nearly died from somebody drinking alcohol. It was in the newspaper. If the guy was so worried why couldn't he at least check the newspaper again for the details?

He shifted as his irritation was gone in an instant. The pain killers kept his mind in a fog and most of his strong emotions took too much effort to keep up. His glare turned into a glazed over stare as he watched the flowers his mother had given him. Those were nice at least. He had always liked yellow flowers. Blythe reached out to touch one of them but his hand fell just before it reached the table. He was too tired to care.

The door opened but Blythe didnt move. It was probably the nurse coming to replace his IV with a fuller bag. He managed a scowl at the mention of a guest. It was probably some weirdo claiming to be his buddy again.

He looked up anyway and smiled when he saw it was Chase. "Hey!" He greeted the other with the most enthusiasm he had spoken with since being here,"you look good. I'm really sorry about the accident..." He trailed off and slumped back I'm bed, looking confused. Never in his life had it exhausted him to say three sentences like that. He decided he didn't want to upset Chase by showing how tired he was so he kept the smile on.

A quick flashback sent him back to the accident.

He saw the truck coming before Chase did but he didnt say anything to his friend. He didnt want to scare the other because it might turn out to be nothing. The truck kept speeding for them and Blythe knew it wasn't nothing instantly.

Without thinking he turned so the truck would only hit his side and shoved Chase down so glass wouldn't hit him. He kept his hand on Chase's back to keep him down so his friend couldn't pop back up and demand to know what was going on.

The truck was getting closer and Blythe knew this was going to hurt. He wished he could have said something smart but all he could think about was how bright those lights were.

Blythe snapped back to the present and rubbed his cheeks with his good hand. The other was wrapped up in a cast. "How are you feeling?" He asked with another smile.

Sam wasn't sure how his clients were picked but he definitely knew he had never seen his first client before so looking at them in person wasn't it. Maybe his pimp had a photograph of him or maybe his client had seen him when Sam didnt know he was being looked at. The photograph seemed far more likely and convenient. Photographs meant his pimp could give out many different ones of all his prostitues at the same time without crowding the room.

His pimp had given him a prostitute name as well. He said the name Sam was too manly for the likes of him. He had been expecting Samantha, which was the girl version of his name so when the name Cloud had been given him to all he could do was stare stupidly.

"Cloud Nine," his pimp added through fits of laughter,"Isn't it cute? The clients will love it too. Who wouldn't like to be able to say they're riding cloud nine?" Sam's cheeks flushed but he hadn't argued. It wasn't wise to argue with your pimp. The guy might give him a worse name like Princess Sparklefairy or something.

He was currently standing in front of a really expensive hotel with wide grey eyes. He hated how those eyes had a thin layer of eyeliner around them but nobody had commented or laughed yet so he hadnt wiped it off. His outfit could be worse so he had no room to complain. He had seen a guy forced to dress as a sex craved angel once so his tight jeans and boots were nothing compared to that.

His pimp had chosen the theme 'horny but naive goth kid' for him. That's why he was wearing eyeliner and tight pants, he supposed. Sam turned his head down so that his dark brown hair fell over his face to hide the eyeliner. Having hair slightly longer than earlength was good for at least that much.

He walked up to the counter and tugged on his baggy t- shirt with the smiley face on the front. Should he say he was Sam looking for someone in here or Cloud?

"And you must be Mr. Nine," the girl behind the desk announced with a smile,"I like your last name, by the way. It's so unusual." That answered that question. He smiled slightly to thank her for the compliment and accepted the room keys when they were handed to him.

"Don't lose that!" She called after him,"the key costs two hundred dollars to replace!" Two hundred dollars? That was enough to feed him for a month! He definitely wasn't losing this!

When he found the door the key went to, he lightly knocked and announced he was the pizza guy. His client would know what that meant.
