There is a big bare spot on the wall and a vintage brass coat hook to the back of the doorway. The historical coat hanger had finally broken-off underneath the weight of a lot of years of jackets and winter coats. The decline of the previous lift was the starting place of a place redesign we had been putting off for way too long.
The area involved was just a little used living room in the back of the house. The area had been partitioned off years before in the storage with a previous owner. It was long and narrow, with a photo window along one-wall as well as a handbuilt brick fire at the far end. The surfaces were sheathed in rough cut knotty pine that were stained at least twelve times and were currently a uniform dull dull. The textured roof and nice crown molding, combined with solid walnut mantelpiece over the brick fire, gave the area an antique and traditional believe we desired to maintain and boost.
To begin we emptied the room of the accumulated boxes, items of furniture and bricabrac that appear to accrete like sea floor sediments wherever there is added storage space in a house, then we cleaned and scrubbed the spot totally. We had forgotten concerning the parquet wooden floor tiles that we had hidden under an old braided rug whenever we first moved in http://coathookswallmounted.net .
Because the knotty wood have been stained so many instances, we recognized a new coat of stain might do nothing to alleviate the gray boredom, thus we chosen a solid coating of semi-gloss latex paint. We agonized within the color, however in the finish selected a custom light-green color, called Mint, that accented the dark cherry of the mantelpiece along with the darkly varnished crown molding and trim. It seemed good, and after a new coat of white colored on the ceiling, the space was prepared to enhance.
The previous coat hook got off the door, photos were put, cabinets installed. A new location rug continued a floor along with a couch along with a love-seat and bulbs and end tables were located just right. Then the decoration of the new area, the 64" flat-screen television, was fitted above the mantel. It was excellent.
Apart from that big empty spot on the wall by the door. We solved that last challenge using a shelved coat rack with four antiqued brass coat hooks that fit correctly inside the house.
