Work is officially over for the next week. Thank God! The kids were starting to get antsy and hell if I wasn't too! We were all just getting sick of each other after 6 straight weeks of school. I swear, these kids need a Friday or Monday off every so often so they don't kill each other! But we had to cut some out due to all the snow days. Hopefully the week off makes them sane again!
Anyway, I'm excited. I'm going to head to my parents soon (traffic should be dying down) and spend a couple nights there. My grandma turns 80 tomorrow, so I'm going to her little birthday party. Part of me feels kind of bad because I didn't get her a gift, but my grandma doesn't really need anything. And she feels really embarrassed about getting a bunch of stuff from people and I don't want to do that to her! I'll probably just ask my mom if she wants anything, but now that I live an hour and a half from home my grandma will probably just bee excited to see me. Goodness, I haven't seen her since Christmas!
Then Sunday my parents plan to spend a night at the casino, so I'm going to join them! Watch my freshly 18-year-old brother and his girlfriend gamble with me. Monday we'll leave and I'll probably just chill at home. Tuesday I'm going to see Gabby! I haven't seen her since Christmas either. I suppose whenever I go home it's for a family thing (whole reason I decided to go home this time was for grandma!) so I don't really have time to see my friends. Especially when I only get 2 days and a night. So I'm glad I'm getting a chance!
Thursday I'm going to see my friend Hollie again for the first time in AGES! It really feels like forever since I've hung out with her! It's so hard when I live in the cities and all my friends live back home. And we're going to be country and go out, get burgers, and get smashed. The next day I'll head back. It should be fun!
Connor's gone for a bit too. Took some time off to visit a friend in North Dakota. So I won't get to see him for a while. But he gave me a good send off. My birthday was this last Tuesday and he was pretty nice to me. As nice as he gets wink He came over on Sunday and said we could go out to any restaurant and he'd pay for both of us. This is kind of a big deal, because Connor hates restaurants. Us going out to eat is usually getting Pizza Hut. And we're also sticklers about paying equally. Or I'll pay for both of us if I really want to go out to eat and he doesn't (because he can be kind of cheap). I didn't pick anywhere super fancy and we didn't eat in, but I got to go somewhere new! But I should have taken more advantage of that because it's going to be a while before it happens again! The only other time we went to a restaurant was Valentine's Day, but then I had to pay him back for getting the bill. Always even! But he gave me a rose when I expected nothing, so there's that.
Then he was able to come over on my actual birthday. We didn't do anything special, but I was happy to see him! And I had a box of brownies that he made for me (he doesn't like to bake either), which I appreciated.
Oh man, I keep remembering other things! Well, my birthday was pretty sweet because of that, but that weekend was also great for another reason...I got to hang out with my college buddies! We got together, ate hibachi, watched Frozen on Friday night. On Saturday, we went to Perkins, then MoA to see Divergent and go shopping. That movie was so good! Of course, it deviated from the book a bit, but it was great. The actors playing Tris and Four were spot on! Loved it! And I just finished the sequel book, Insurgent, today. One more book to go! After that, we left, went on a wild goose chase trying to find Orphan Black on DVD (which was nowhere!), but Kaitlyn ended up buying Hannibal, so we watched that instead. I finished the first season on my own and what a show! Go watch it! But, anyway, that was a great way to start off a birthday week.
And the presents I got for my birthday were awesome! Jaimee sent me a flask, Katie sent me sponge candy, Joel sent me Sherlock season 3, and some mystery person sent me a Doctor Who long sleeve shirt (I still need to track them down! There was no name!). Very awesome! Super happy. I guess I never expect anything, so it's weird when I get stuff.
Ok, I should head out, but I'm just giving an update!
I really wish Connor was here, though. Today, it's been a year since I first told him I loved him...I wanted to recreate that, but he knows I still feel that way. He knows.
