Full Name: Yamao Shu
Date of Birth: October 7, 1998
Height & Weight: 152.40cm (5ft0in) & 40kg (89lbs)
Physical Appearance: 1, 2, 3
Everyday apparel: Offstage, Shu's sense of style is much more reserved. Often times she can be seen wearing a simple pair of dark wash skinny jeans, and over sized jumpers. For Shu, fashion is about comfort over style. She seizes any and all opportunities to slide her feet into a pair of tennis shoes, and relax. Her signature outfit, however, is a high school uniform which consists of a short, dark blue pleated skirt, a light brown sweater over a white dress shirt, and a dark blue striped ribbon tie.
Personality: Shu is what one might call an optimist. She's a ball of energy (as most idol's are) and is always looking on the bright side of life. Its very difficult to get this girl down in the dumps but she can be rather sensitive when someone she cares for is yelled at or ridiculed. She is a bit naive on the ways of the world as she has spent most of her life as a pampered little princess, which can lead her to being rather curious on matters that don't concern her or things of the adult world. She is a dreamer and a klutz and while she usually lands on her feet, ends up breaking a few things in the process because she wasn't paying attention. She often dreams of living a life of an average teenage girl, going to school and making new friends. Shu is not very quick to get angry and usually does her best to find a silver lining unless she is being criticized unfairly. You'll find yourself bruised from a blow to the ribs if you criticize her dancing, or singing.
Hobbies/Interests: On her off time, Shu enjoys watching repeats of old television shows, and movies. Her favorite genres being comedy and fantasy. Shu loves to travel as well, taking any chance she can get to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, to retreat to the country side. Her other hobbies include card games, sculpting, and listening to live music with close friends.
Quirks/Habits: Shu enjoys walking around without shoes on before and after every show. Some of her fans have even snapped photos of her without shoes on inside of her favorite restaurant. It's a strange habit, but no one ever bothers to stop her.
Dislikes: Anti-fans, False rumors, and sleeping on long car rides.
Weaknesses: Shu is extremely sensitive when it comes to her dancing, and singing. Most Idol's are expected to take criticism with a smile, but that is ridiculously hard for Shu. She practices for very long hours every day of the week to perfect her sound, and memorize entire dances. Having someone tell her she isn't good enough is like a slap to the face.
Strengths: Not only is Shu blessed with the abilities to sing, and dance, she is also very kind and strong willed. Though she can have her bratty teenage moments, she prides herself on being as sweet as candy to any, and everyone.
Talents: Dancing, Singing, and Sculpting.
Job: Pop Music Idol
Education: Shu has only completed middle school, and plans on taking her High School exams at home.
Parents: Shu's mother, Akane, is a professor at an all female university in Tokyo. She hasn't always been supportive of Shu's career, but knows that her daughters happiness is more important than the wants of herself. She chooses not to attend most of Shu's concerts, because she believes them to be too 'rowdy'. Shu's father, Hotaru Yamao is the accounts manager for a Kyoto based software company. He has always been fully supportive of his daughters career as an Idol, and even attends most of her live concerts.
Siblings: Shu is an only child.
Current Relationships: n/a
History: As a child, Shu grew up in a relatively normal home. Both of her parents worked, while Shu was left with her grandmother during the day. That is where Shu's love of singing began. Her grandmother would teach her folk songs that originated from the smaller islands, and Shu would sing along to the best of her ability. As she got older, her father recognized her growing talent and decided it was time to enroll her vocal training. Throughout Shu's elementary school years, she attended the classes four days a week, for three hours each day. In Junior High School, after being urged by both her father and grandmother, Shu auditioned for a spot in her cities pre-teen choir. After her acceptance, Shu traveled to several different parts of Japan with the group, and was eventual scouted into a Tokyo talent agency.
At the age of 13, after a seemingly endless two years of training, Shu released her first single entitled "NOva!". It hit number 1 on the Oricon charts, and sky rocketed the young teen to fame.
