Yup, I've been pretty absent on Gaia again lately, and if you've been reading my journal at all, you can pretty much guess why: that pesky Real Life Thing.
This most recent trip out of town was to visit my father in his nursing home in KS and take care of some of his business. There's more business to take care of, but most of it can be done remotely. Dad's doing ok, not much change, but one thing that's been made clear to me is how quickly that can change.
Meanwhile, two days before we left, I damaged my right calf muscle falling up the stairs. Of course I can't do these things the traditional way, I have to find new and interesting ways to do it. Long story short, the doctor said it's a definite strain, possible partial tear, and because it's definitely muscle, there's not too much they can do for it. He made it clear it's just going to take time to heal, and the more I can use it, the better it will be.
He was right about that, I had relapsing cramps the days after the long drives to and from KS - and we did stop and walk around more than usual. This is a royal pain in the behind and is cramping not only my leg but my style. But what can you do - crap happens, and you deal with it.
Meanwhile on Gaia, nothing new has really happened, the unrelenting waves of new buy our pixels keep washing over us and undermining the foundations of the marketplace, and life goes on. I'd get upset if I had time or I thought it would do any good - but that's another entry sometime when I have time to think a little more and the coffee has kicked in.
I hope those who read this are having fun and less complications in their lives.
