Lol, I really can't though sweatdrop
As for that last social week, everything…kinda fell through rofl
Germaine backed out of lunch. Rats and I never did Davios because after Parc I was spent. And Derrick never even went to DC…I did work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night and this week I plan on working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night to pay my bills and help fund Robert's birthday situation.
Now, I was talking about the Hershey Spa and was in the process of making that reservation and getting the funds together to take him in Early April. To my knowledge, he was going to spend the birthday weekend with his friends doing…whatever xp But while I was downtown running errands today ( I stayed at the CY last night because of snow. Brooke let me have a late checkout at 1pm, which was fine because I had to go to the bank, go buy gloves from H and I wanted to stop by Buff, I also got to hang out with Rats for a sec at the Rad), I called him and we spoke for a bit. After a while we hung up and he called back saying that he wanted to do a Broadway show in New York for his birthday. He said it didn't matter which one but he wanted to spend $400-500 on it. I texted him while I was at work to see if he wanted a room too.
Chile, so by the grace of God I was able to find a room at the New York Marriott Downtown for a reasonable price ($109/night). I know the room will be small as ********, and as much as I wish I did…I just didn't have the extra $70-$100 for the upgraded view or room so I just booked a standard. We'll be in lower Manhattan in the Financial District which is quite a ways from midtown and Central Park. Hopefully Rob won't have a problem with that because all the other hotels in the city were giving prices over $200. The next best thing is Queens, right across the bridge but to be honest…The Country Inn & Suites in Queens might be a better option if you're weighing everything. I'm sure Country has free breakfast, a standard for all CIS, they're a little closer to the midtown/times square area although we will be in the Financial District right next to the Statue of Liberty, 9/11 memorial, Battery Park, The Hudson River, Chinatown, and other fun stuff. CIS's rate is a little higher, their employee rate isn't available but their STANDARD rate for that weekend is $132/night. I could swing that and even use my points for one (or both nights). They have free wifi, free business center, a fitness center, and the room is probably bigger…it's just up to Rob. He might want to just stay in the city city…which is probably true.
With people like him, I'd rather just give him the options to pick so that he can have the experience he wants….me personally…I'd just be happy that my love thought enough about me, but he…..is picky. xp
I'll just ask him.
He also still wants to do the spa thing. Now, I KNOW that I won't be able to pay for a spa AND the hotel ANDDDD these tickets that I already paid for…..AND my rent and bills!!! I spent $550 on front 2 row tickets to see Motown the Musical. It was either that or Aladdin, I would've loved to see Aladdin because that was in the Disney era that I grew up on in the 90's and when Lion King roared on the scene. Rob grow up the decade before so I figured Motown would've been more up his alley. Plus, Aladdin is a lot newer so tickets were skimp.
Like….even if I wanted to give him a cute day spa type situation…it would still be…a lot lol Firstly, I'm not sure what type of spa experience he's looking for. Again, the Hershey Day Spa experience is $510 which is 5.5 hours. I looked at Elizabeth Red Door that has various day spa packages with the top two being at $1000 and $749, and others under that. I know there's a Marriott property that works with Elizabeth Red Door Spa in Jersey somewhere but I can almost guarantee that I won't get a discount of any kind crying Idk, I guess I"ll work on it…but with the tickets and the hotel, I'm already squeezing my financial belt.
We'll see. I still want to do the chocolate spa for him, so maybe later on this summer. This summer me and Jerson also HAVE to go skydiving. According to Jers, he hasn't really "lived his life" at the age 26. I mean, I'm 23 and I already feel like I have tons of unforgettable memories and experiences under my belt so we have to get him to do at least something. Skydiving this summer sounds absolutely perfect.
So back on topic….the Hershey Spa thing would've cost me almost $1000, tbh, for the overnight Hershey Sweet Retreat. That would've included 2 tickets for the Hershey Museum, the Hershey Gardens, overnight accommodations at the Hershey Hotel (where the spa is), and $400 spa credit ($740). If I wanted to give him the Day Spa jawn, that would've been an extra $200….but instead, I spent $540 on front row tickets to this Broadway show, $250 on this hotel room, (less if we stay at CIS) an extra $110 if we drive and park (less if we stay at CIA btw $55/night compared to $15). So I guess it's about the same amount, except that we're going to have to eat and drink and stuff. Eh….hopefully it'll work out.
Ideally, I wouldn't want Rob to pay for anything on his birthday weekend but I really just don't have it….
The love of my life loves expensive things. He deserves the world sweatdrop
In other news, hopefully I'll be working with Mighty Writers by the top of next month…and I've noticed that Derrick has almost perfected the art of asking for what he wants and getting what he wants from people….I definitely need classes and would love to write about it soon 3nodding
