So we have now found out what the two remaining developers stuck working on Gaia have been doing: creating new animal bases for avatars. Never mind the huge number of bugs or the promised fixes to towns and games and the missing non-events for holidays and all that stuff....we needed huge headed animals because simply don't have enough ways to customize our avatars on Gaia.
Actually, my hypothesis is that this is a test run for the Coming Real Soon Now 18+ site. Here's my reasoning: along with these animal bases, Gaia re-released a whole bunch of old items "reimagined" (read: put in a cheap graphic program and resized) for the animal avatars. So instead of using the 10000+ items you already have in your inventory (or maybe that's just me), you have to rebuy everything. With Real World Money translated to Gaia Cash for the most part.
What Gaia wants to know is how many people are willing to rebuy their inventory on a new site, and what better way than to use this site as a guinea pig? Actual data is a marvelous thing.
As for me, no thanks. I have more items in my inventory right this very minute than I am ever going to have time or inclination to use on my current avatar (which after 7 years I like just as much as when I made her the first time) while this site is still in business. I'm not rebuying my inventory on this or any other site.
