My Afternoon at the Guildhall
Each afternoon on weekdays I report to the Herbalist Guildhall for the purpose of aiding my guild. On some afternoons, such as today's, I aid the nurses at the clinic with their various patients. One patient from today in particular refuses to leave my memory, he was so distraught. The man was scruffy and had dark circles beneath his eyes, as if he had been out all night without sleep. In fact, the Bobbies brought the bugger in, practically dragging him. As he did not seem violent, we put him to bed and made a note to give him a tonic when he woke up.
After a few hours, he did indeed wake up, and such a temper was he in! Fortunately he took the tea of chamomile that I offered him and calmed considerably. (Fortunate, too, that I was able to use my Talent to draw a larger amount of oils from the chamomile plant for a stronger tea.) After the man took his tea and tonic, he muttered some comment along the sorts of "That useless daughter of mine better bring me more money tonight or no supper for her," gave me a smile, and went on his merry way.
I do hope that his daughter pleased him today, or that he shows a bit of mercy to her. Something tells me that this gentleman makes a habit of drinking his money up each night.
