For a while now, I've wanted to set up real-money commissions because college is approaching and I would love to have the cash to order textbooks.
I've avoided actually making much progress in the venture, however. My biggest fear is making an obvious, stupid mistake somewhere along the way, like issues with the PayPal payments and the actual act of sending the commission to the customer.
So I spent five hours last night (this morning?) working on templates and information for selling commissions here on Gaia, for gold. My hope is that it will give me the experience I need with customers without the risk of dealing with real-life currency. I still have some reservations and concerns about even exchanging Gaia gold, but I know I must overcome that fear if I hope to ever be successful with IRL commissions.
I'm currently working on a request sketch for someone on deviantART and a companion Mimi piece of the Sheshe picture. I really want to finish those, plus a couple of really basic sketches, before I open the shop.
Still nervous as all get out, though.
