- One foot in the water's surface, two hearts following the moon.
She slipped one foot into the cool water's surface, letting the ocean water calm her aching feet. It had been a long day of court business, documents to sign, decisions to be made. At times, she could argue that moments such as these where she could lose herself in peacefulness, were a thousand times more important than the duties that were expected of her as a member of the royal family. With a satisfied grin, she stepped forward, further into the water's essence until the waves kissed her knees. Ruby eyes gazed upwards, allowing the moonlight to engulf them in it's bright glow. The light washed over her skin, creating an almost goddess-like portrait of the hard-working princess the nation knew she was. Her auburn hair moved with the small breeze that came from the ocean air, as she should there, staring out at the rest of the world.
It crossed her mind on more than one occasion that there was many other people out there. They might look different, see different things. She wondered what it would be like to join them, to walk among them - to meet someone. She had never left the small island that her family and her people lived on, but such an island had always been enough. They took from the land what they needed, and gave back to the land what they didn't. Life was simple, there was no need for adventure and wondering. No one ever left the island because there was no need to.
But she couldn't help but to let her mind conjure up fantasy worlds. With tall buildings full of magical lights, like pixies, and millions of people bustling with their much-more interesting lives. The idea that there might be someone, another person somewhere who wondered and dreamed just like her, could be staring at this same moon, sent chills across her skin. She smiled to herself, hopeful that maybe someday, she could meet that someone from her thoughts, and maybe discover a whole new world.
