Journal of an Astral Travelling Starship Trooper
Rambling about stuff that may or may not interest you... Fangirling about musicians that may or may not interest you... Random stuff... Yeah, that's about it... There's a Sci-Fi story buried in here somewhere...
Why I love Cheap Trick - 16
Alrighty, on to 1988 and Cheap Trick's return (pretty much, although they technically never left). So, with Tom Petersson back on bass and boring Jon Brant gone, Cheap Trick released Lap of Luxury, which spawned them their only number one hit in America, "The Flame". It is a beautiful ballad, and the song that brought them back from the brink. The guys actually didn't like the way it sounded at first and it took some convincing for them to perform it. Kind of a good thing they did end up doing it. There are also some other great songs on there, such as "All We Need is a Dream" and "Ghost Town".

Playlist-

"I Know What I Want" (1979) - Tom Petersson's singing voice! smilies/icon_heart.gifsmilies/icon_heart.gif
"Every Day You Make Me Crazy" (2009)
"ELO Kiddies" (1977)
"Cry Cry" (1977)
"Everybody Knows" (2009) - Such beauty [This song is why they still can kick anyone's a** in the music business]
"Don't Be Cruel" (1988) - Elvis Presley cover.

Robin Zander with his kids and wife on the beaches of Florida. My guess is St. Pete beach. He doesn't live too far from there.

Cheap Trick with Joe Elliot, Def Leppard's lead singer.

I just love Rick's face in the back.
