Argh! It's a bunch of random things from the demented mind of Kutai. (Watches little kids run away in terror)

So yet again I post to my journal in hopes that someone will read this in despair and pleasure. (Hopefully not both at the same time. You sicko's.....) Things have gotten a tad bit interesting here in Colorado over the past month. Here September 11th we were hit with the worse flooding Colorado has ever seen and my home town of Lyons was turned into a literal island in the mountains. We were hit with a wall of water over 9 feet high and Boulder was slammed with a wall of water over 36 feet high. It was the largest amount of water ever seen here. Jamestown, south of Estes Park (home of the Stanley Hotel, from the Shining.) was devastated. We lost 6 people to this flood and thousands are displaced. The destruction has left over 18,000 homes damaged and over 12,000 homes destroyed completely. We have now miles of roads washed away from 36 and 34 to Boulder Canyon south of Nedarland. Never before have I EVER seen anything like this before. Chunks of the dams north of my house that broke free were the size of small CARS!!!! It was intense!!!!! The sound still gives my partner nightmares. We were evacuated out by the national guard and FEMA on the night of the 13th and things haven't been the same since. The floods have completely and permanently changed the geology and ecology of the Saint Vrain Canyon, Ute Creek Canyon, and Boulder Creek Canyon forever. We made national news. Same with my father-in-law Earl Ward! He was on the news when he was interviewed by CBS news!! He was around when the Big Thompson Flood occurred and he never imagined seeing something like this in his lifetime.Being 91 years old now he's seen his fair share of hairy events in his life but this took the cake on weirdness and craptasticness! But we have a saying out here. Colorado strong, Colorado proud. We've made it through the worse part of all of this. All of the missing have been located and the dead have been laid to rest and the mourning has begun. Now begins the hardest part. The cleanup. We have so much work ahead of us. But we'll make it through this. And we'll come out of this stronger, better, and more beautiful than ever before!!!!! I LOVE COLORADO!!!! And I LOVE GAIA!!!!! heart heart heart
