The government shut-down is proving to be a bigger deal and more of a reality than I originally expected. It just so happens that my father works for the ANG (Air National Guard) and he recently got a slightly new position that has saved him from not getting a paycheck like so many others in his squadron. However, he may not get one of his paychecks because the government does not have a set budget. One thing that my mother said that made me upset is that the people causing this still get paid! The whole government is a big, huge, tangled mess in my opinion. I am pleased this happened, however, because that delays the Obamacare until 2014 which will help people over 75 because they wouldn't be able to get surgeries, life threatening or not, without some serious paperwork.
Our elderly are people to respect, love and admire. They are people that need love! Some day we will hopefully be old and do we want our children and grand-children to let us die? I should think not! We'd have things to tell them that would help them more than anything in their life. You know, our elderly have survived through so much for us and our thinks in return is not getting them a life giving surgery? We are more heartless than I thought of the answer is yes! Our elderly need help. We need to help them and stand up for them and put the government in their place! They aren't taking our best interest at heart, just making themselves rich and comfortable! I have no solution and I can't vote but I am raising awareness as much as possible so that we can help the ones that fought for our freedom, well-being and comfort. This is a very small way to thank them, to give them what they need. If Obamacare does go through, You can bet on one thing- I'm going to become a doctor and, even if I get put in jail, I'm going to help our elderly as soon as possible by giving them the surgeries they need if it comes to it.
:heart:God bless our elderly!!
