The other day I did something I never thought I'd do.
I tried out for my schools Fall play.
Now, I am insanely shy. If you try to talk to me in real life (and sometimes online,) I freeze, stutter out something really embarrassing, and run off.
Student: "Hi Nerd, how are you doing today?"
Me: "..."
Student: "Are you okay?"
Me: "Your hair has always reminded me of a poodle."
Student: "What?"
And then I run off to hide in the Library and read (*cough*reenact the scene in my head a million times so I get more and more mortified.)
So anyway...
I never thought I'd be able to get up on a stage in front of people I respect and admire (yes, I happen to like the drama nerds. They are awesome people, and you should go befriend some of them) and do anything without throwing up.
But I did it. I tried out.
And didn't get a part.
But I'm the lights manager, so that's cool.
Honestly, I'm a bit glad for that. I have this horrible feeling that if I had to get up on stage in front of a whole bunch of people and act, I'd definitely throw up.
So, this year Lights, next year, a minor part with a few lines!
