Against opponents who are no real harm to her or her home, she will result to non fatal means to end a fight.

History

When she first entered the Soul Society, she near immediately fled to the deepest forest that she could. There, the forest grew larger and wilder from her Spiritual Pressure. Eventually, she had to make her way back and forth to sections of the city to buy supplies. Then, she came upon a soul reaper who became aware of her power and encouraged her to enter the Spiritual Arts Academy. She did start there, but only learned enough to gain her Zanpakuto before leaving, seeing other lessons as a waste of time. After that, she resumed her life in the deep forest, now with a better means to defend her home from invaders. Since then, she has gained proficient use of her Bankai.

Powers & Abilities

Master Swordsman: Through her centuries of defending her home from raiding warriors and the like, Midori has gained incredible use of her Zanpakuto and many other weapons she can generate from it's power.

Hakuda Expert: Midori was highly skilled with just using bare hands to take down foes, despite them being armed. She will sometimes increase the effectiveness of this skill with weapons generated by her Zanpakuto.

Shunpo Expert: Even with only learning the basics, Midori has learned to be exceptionally fast with Shunpo. Through her battles and training she has become more adept with it over time, even observing others and learning to remove flaws in her technique.

Highly Perceptive Combatant: With her life and home often being on the line, Midori has learned to quickly adjust to most situations and tricks, finding ways counter them or turn the tide in her favor. She uses her Zanpakuto to either limit her foe's abilities or to make them attack so she can deduce the most effective way to bring them down.

Expert Strategist & Tactician: Midori uses her Zanpakuto's abilities in ways to trap or entangle her opponents, often setting up their defeat well before they are aware of it.

Enhanced Endurance: Taking into account her lifestyle and battles she's been through, Midori's body is strong enough to continue fighting despite injuries.

Enhanced Durability: Due to the nature of her Zanpakuto, it works in concert with her to lessen the effect of many attacks.

Vast Spiritual Power: Midori's spiritual power is equal to or even greater than the average soul reaper captain. It's nature is in tune with that of plants and affects them to grow larger and more vibrant when exposed to it. This has caused her home to become like a jungle within a forest. This is also the reason why her Zanpakuto is always in Shikai.

Zanpakuto

Shokubutsu Seimei (Plant Life): When being worn, Shokubutsu Seimei has the appearance of a bokuto or wooden sword. It is mostly smooth and wooden with some grip, no guard and barely a perceptible seam where the handle separates from the very durable sheath to expose a razor sharp edge.

Shikai: Midori's Zanpakuto is in a constantly released state as shown by it's appearance. Additionally, the vines that wrap around her body is also a portion of her Shikai. These vines have differing modes referred to a Kyumin and Nodo. Kyumin is the dormant state of it where it clings to her body and rarely moves otherwise. While doing this, it feeds off her spiritual power, making her seem much weaker than she actually is. Nodo is the active state where it will freely move around either on her command or as a reaction.

Shikai Special Ability: Shokubutsu Seimei's ability is the control of all plants. From seeds and roots to leaves, flowers, vines and trees. It can even generate various poisons into attacks to further enhance them for differing effects. As such, it is very versatile with how it could be used. Often Midori will use it to generate other weapons to better keep her opponents off balance of countering her style. Additionally, she can use her power to regenerate her Shikai surprisingly quickly.

Tsuru Muchi (Vine Whip): This attack appears to be a simple vine utilized in a whip like manner, though it can change direction to follow a target at Midori's will. It can be smooth. It can be woven, consisting of several vines meant to wrap and bind an opponent upon touch. Or it can be thorny or needle covered meant to do additional damage upon impact, even delivering poisons. The inside of the vine itself is also left up to Midori's discretion. Water, poison and extra sticky, glue-like sap are most common.

Toge Token (Thorn Swords): These are sharp, wooden blades attached to Midori's forearms for close fighting and punching techniques. They can be used for stronger physical blocking, to deliver poison and even lengthened to catch a foe by surprise, though the rate of growth isn't too drastic.

Suraiba (Sliver): Basically these are needles or small shards of wood, often laced with poisons meant to be used in mass to stab into a blocking foe or to be used as a single hidden attack to not be noticed in battle until it is too late. They have some ability to get through stronger skin types, often dependent on Midori's power in comparison.

Irujikake (Venus Flytrap): Using this technique, Midori generates large, carnivorous plants to bind or engulf her opponents. They powerful grab onto what they are targeted and begin to work at dissolving it with powerful acids to digest it. She is capable of wrapping herself in them and using them like additional hands and even creating them large enough to enclose more opponents.

Bankai: Shokubutsu Seimei no Megami (Goddess of Plant Life): When activated, her body will be covered in leaves and vines to create clothes on her with more responsive and defensive properties. Her hands and forearms are coated in leaf gloves to provide a better anchor point for additional techniques or enhance melee attacks. Her feet and legs are covered in heeled boots for a similar purpose to the gloves. Midori's torso also gets coated more thoroughly in leaves and plants, though the wardrobe allows for easier freedom of movement than normal clothing. as well as changing at her will to discourage further attacks.

Rifukuron (Leaf Clone): Midori manipulates a large amount of leaves to attack, often setting it up in advance to be used once she flash steps to avoid her opponent to mislead them into attacking. This is so she can set up or lead the foe into a trap, observe their powers or techniques or to divert their focus. The clones do not speak and are often aggressive in close range attacking. Due to the fine focus needed they are only temporary and are easy to destabilize, falling apart once hit hard enough, cut or struck by a spiritually charged attack.

Utsubokazura (Pitcher Plant): This is an immense attack, often needing some preparation to use. Midori will generate a massive plant wall around herself and her opponent, a huge leaf would close the lid as the bottom fills with an acidic liquid. The thick walls quickly regenerate damage and leak out a slick substance that diminishes spiritual attacks and makes climbing impossible. This technique is used to keep friends or other foes out of the way as Midori relies on her power to outlast the opponent till they sink into the acid to be dissolved and feed her Zanpakuto.

Seihon (Binding): Midori can use this in small scale in Shikai to bind weak enemies that are not worth her time or in a large scale opponent when the foe is very powerful. It comes in an assortment of different techniques.
Janguru Seihon (Jungle Binding): Midori calls upon a vast number of vines to wrap around her opponents with trees laced in to grow and eventually crush the foe as he weakens further and further.
Sabaku Seihon (Desert Binding): She again traps her opponent, this time coating and binding them within cacti for the needles to perforate their flesh.
Take Seihon (Bamboo Binding): This technique leads to the opponent bound by spears of bamboo restricting their arms and legs. With time more and more grow up from beneath to skewer the foe in random areas.

Sora Taiho (Solar Cannon): Shokubutsu Seimei no Megami's most powerful attack. Midori typically uses it to finish off tough opponents. Her Zanpakuto is continuously gathering energy from Midori and the Sun, Sora Taiho is the release of this energy in an immense blast of spirit energy. The full power of this attack is so powerful, Midori often has to flee to a safe distance before it explodes.
