Plot/Story/Background for All Magic Comes with a Price

link to families

Magic has taken many forms over the years. Books, movies, fairy-tales, songs, all sorts of things. But only those born with magic know of it's truth. Mortals have long since known of God, he who created life on Earth. There was not one, but two gods who created existence. Nodes and Haon created all of existence. It was in fact Haon who created most of the Solar System. She gave life to space, while Nodes gave life to Earth. When the mortals were created, Haon suggested that they create super mortals. Mortals with the ability to do magic, such had the gods done to create them. Nodes said no, and would not let Haon create anything on Earth. She even tried to smite the mortals he created and held to dear to his heart. So, she created her own mortals. Mortals with power, ones with a special protection from Nodes, so that he could not harm them. That was only the beginning of a god on god fight.

These creations, they could use magic. They didn't need spells or wands, but some used them for show when they scared the 'real' mortals. Though they cannot fly on brooms. It took a couple dozen of these special mortals to levitate one of their own riding a broom to start that myth. Nodes told his creations that the special mortals were nothing but demons. Demons bent on destroying the Earth, even though Haon created them as protectors for the Earth. Nodes turned the mortals against the special ones, and dubbed them as 'witches'. Mortals then hunted witches for centuries, burning them, hanging them, just trying to kill them all off in general.

Nodes in the early days, had a book written about him. Though in it, he was known simply as God. Haon was known as Satan. So while the mortals loved him, worshiped him, and killed in his name, the 'witches' were left to pray to their god, Haon, who did all she could to help them, which even meant giving them all the rest of her power, before Nodes locked her in a cell. Her own powers and magic would have been rendered useless, so she gave it to her own little brand of mortals, making them stronger.

As the years went by after Haon was imprisoned, the witches learned to hide from the mortals, while hating their god with every fiber of their being. Though there were still a group of trained individuals who hunted these witches. However, they would not be so easily killed. They disappeared for a few hundred years from the hunters, and when they reappeared, they had quadrupled in numbers. They were reproducing left and right, creating more and more offspring, and it wasn't long until they held at least one third of the population of the world in their hands that they decided they needed control over the world. For years they managed to live peacefully among the mortals, striving on taking the world for themselves, and freeing their god together. For Nodes would be no match for all of them combined. But Nodes has long since fallen asleep. He started his nap when he had his followers create a family of hunters.

When witches became a myth to the mortals, they became a very real dangerous threat for the hunters to eliminate. The hunters were trained witch hunters. Everything the mortals and Nodes learned of the witches were passed down to them, to keep the memory of their god strong, and to train future hunters. The hunters is made up of a group of five-seven families, used to be many more, but not all families were able to have more kids as time went on, and their family name was forgotten to the world, but not the hunters. They have a long hall, which remains protected and cleaned at all times, with the name of every hunter in its walls. Once one has completed the training to become a hunter, their name is etched into the walls. Tourists come upon this every so once in a while, and are allowed in to look, but all they see are the names carved into the wall. They are given no explanation, not told how old the hall is. All they get is to marvel in its beauty, and throw a coin or two into the fountain if they please.

Hunters to not kill like serial killers. While they are trained in every possible known way to fight, they tend to round up as many witches as they can, and burn them. Or, make it look like a suicide. They have learned to make everything untraceable. Aside from the fake lives they take on to learn who is a witch, hunting is all their life is. Their rules prevent them from having real lives, from falling in love. Though they are expected to pro-create, and create more hunters. Most mothers at the home base of the hunters have as many kids as they possibly can before they die. And mostly with the same person, as to avoid incest. But the hunters, much like the witches, have fallen into myth. Though, occasionally one of the mortals who believes in magic or 'worships the devil' occasionally come across a hunter, though no one believes them.

Witches kept mortal blood from their own since they were born. They have grown to believe mortal blood is impure, and will wither away their magic. Any witch who mated with a human, and created a half-blood child tended to be killed or cast out from their family after being branded with a symbol on their cheek(so all witches would know what they did), along with the mortal they mated with. The magical men impregnating the mortal women were forced to watch their baby and child be killed, then killed themselves. Since a magical pregnancy is nothing like a mortal pregnancy, the mortal who impregnated the witch generally found out of magic. And therefore had to die. Witches weren't the only ones killing the half-bloods. Hunters seemed to hate them more than the witches. Seemed to think they were more dangerous, but time proved that to be wrong, and they left the half-blood alone. Any mortal who was not killed by the witches, was offered to join the hunters, and most tended to accept that offer.

But as mortals became more greedy and power hungry, as did the witches. Families of witches broke off from their ancestors ancient goal of freeing their god, interested in ruling the world themselves. Interested in making their family number one. When they should have been working together, they instead they were breaking apart, starting their own battles and taking land when and where they could. Soon families with the most power over certain areas became the leader of their parts. Any families within their area would join their coven, unless the family was powerful enough to fight back. But witches had yet to make it into the white house, though they figured it was just a matter of time.

But this is where the first family will come in. The Lansforth's. They were becoming singly the most powerful family in the world. They had large areas in every country where they were in charge, and they did not want their god released form her cell. They instead wanted to kill the mortals god, and rule all. They were the first family to break off from their kind. The first witches to damn their god, and claim themselves as god. They mostly go around saying that their ancestor was one of the very first witches made. Though no one had the power nor knowledge to confirm or deny it. Their family grew and grew, until no family would be larger than them, and they spread. Sending themselves all over the world so they could start their own little plan for world domination.

The main part of the family also holds dominion over the town Bushfield in Oklahoma. (fictional.) A town their own family created and brought up. It was one of the first cities in Oklahoma to be created, and now is most certainly the largest. Though while the Lansforths are the largest, and according to themselves and the families who follow them, and most powerful witches in the world. Yet somehow, they manage to stay under the hunter's radar.

The Richards you consider the second best family in town, but they are constantly fighting the Lansforths for power. They have been fighting the Lansforths for the longest, even before Bushfield.

The Aldaines are the newest in town. Came to town before the birth of their youngest, but the parents died when their youngest was two. They died in a fight the families had. The Aldaines tried to stop the fight, but got caught in the crossfire. The death of their parents brought the Aldaine children into the battle, and it is far from over.
