The Fairegarden Files
Hi. I'm Lily Fairegarden. I came to Gaia to play the games & have been having fun playing with my avatar and the site. I'm also a writer-type; well, artsy in general. I'm something of a contradiction - I love people, but I'm kind of shy. So say hi!
All Grown Up Now
I guess, anyway. Graduated. Finally. <big Grin> BFA in Studio Arts. Not sure what it will get me these days, but I guess we'll have to see.

Julian and I are house hunting now. My lease at school is up in August, so I have a couple months to find us somewhere to start our life together. Looking at little starter homes. Something with space to put in a kiln and a wheel. An art studio. We were looking at apartments and decided that for the same monthly payment, we could afford a little house all our own, plus we would OWN it and get some equity from it.

So house hunting. I am so ready to have my own home.

And we're getting serious about the weddings now. The theme still is "the Time Traveller's Wedding." Vi has been giving me ideas for what she wants designed for her gown and what she wants her attendents to wear. Hank is still figuring out what he wants to wear/be. I have Julian's outfit pretty much figured out. I'll be creating an 8th Doctor inspired outfit for him. We just have to go fabric shopping and I can get started with that. His groomsmen are wearing variations on his outfit. Hm. I wonder if I could talk them all into being various regenerations of the Doctor? That would be a lot of work.

Vi is leaning towards a combination of Mme Pompadour and the black and white gown that Christina Ricci wore in Sleepy Hollow. I'm still figuring out my gown. I kind of want something like Sara wore in Labyrinth (David Bowie movie). Not sure how that would work with Julian in a Doctor Who 8 outfit, though. I have a year. Yikes, a little less than a year.

On the other hand, it would be way better than the wedding last weekend that was supposed to be a Doctor Who wedding and just sort of turned into a conglomeration of a whole bunch of ideas strung together with no real unifying theme. It could have been so much better.

One of the things I did like about the wedding last weekend was that the couple (he's a graphic artist and she's a scenic artist) created a large graphic of their names and wedding date done in High Gallifreyan. It was matted and framed already, but it was set out with the guest book for all of us to sign. After the wedding, it will be hung promimently in their home. A really neat idea, I think. And Julian, knowing the couple well, had fun with it. He added little "best wishes" from a number of different time travellers in with the wedding guests' names. Towards the end of the night, the groom noticed this and was absolutely delighted. I don't think that they know it was Julian yet, but his handwriting (scribbling, really) will out him in the end.

It's been a really eventful May. I hope June is a little more stress-free and calm.
