Green Nail Varnish
A lot has happened from 2011, to now (2013) . Fell of the radar for the majority of last year, and then I came back, not as writing a gossip column (although sometimes that too) but more as me, a writer, a thinker, a venter . A human...

I woke to a violent shake. Bright light filled my eyes as I stumbled from my bed and scrambled under my computer desk. I didn't know what was happening, my mind was racing, my heart was pounding...loudly? That's when I realized that I couldn't hear anything... but my heartbeat, getting louder and louder as the realization of my predicament became clearer and clearer.
The earth shook under me again. I didn't know what was happening, but I needed to find out. Cautiously I stood from under my desk. I tried to look out my window but the light was too bright to recognize anything.
I left my room and made my way down my hallway and down the stairs, not checking to see if my roommate was asleep, or alive. Meh, I didn't care that much for him anyway.
The house began shake, more violently than before. I stumbled backwards, and pressed myself against the wall to regain balance. Whatever was happening, was becoming stronger... or closer. The front door was right there. My mind filled with conflicting thoughts,"Should I open it?Should I stay inside and find a well guarded room?" 10 seconds felt like an eternity, my eye burning from the perspiration dripping from my forehead. My heart beat now as loud and as deafening as ever.
Another shake. I couldn't take it anymore. I ran to the door and flung it open with all my might. The bright light engulfed me, and then everything became clear. Everything...was normal? The grass seemed undisturbed, indifferent as ever. The birds chirping faint- .
The birds were chirping... Faintly at first, and then more pronounced. Then muffled under the sounds of other things, the sirens, the gun fire. All these sounds came thrashing at me all at once. Everything was not okay. Whatever was happening, was happening, irregardless of my presence.
I stood there, trying to collect my sensory singles. That's when I heard that deafening whistle. So soft, but yet so loud . And that's when it happened. With a sudden explosive BOOM, I felt my self leave the earth. I no longer had control of my body. I was sent hurtling through space, the sky above me seeming unchanging .
I hit the ground with a thud, my body ricocheted and I landed again, this time for good. The white light once again began to erase my vision. And then there was nothing... Nothing but my own heart beat.
