Original Post [Not by me.]
"So, Long distance relationships. They're not for everyone, so don't be discouraged if they don't work for you. It all depends on personality and other factors. To everyone who thinks that they don't ever work out. I've had many of couples message me with support that though it's hard, the person they dated online, they married. So it can happen. Just not for everyone. It is hard and requires a lot of trust.
And another thing people tend to say about long distance is "you will never meet them so what's the point?" The point is if they're worth it and you feel like your relationship for one another and feelings are strong enough you will do anything to see them no matter what. Yes other factors do come into play, such as age and parents, and finances and what not. But you can't meet that special someone 'til you take the first few steps. Talk to your parents and start saving money. If your parents say no, wait a few years. If you guys really like each other, you guys can wait to see each other.
And believe me. When you finally get the money to see them and have that plane ticket in hand. It's the best feeling in the world. Everyday you get closer and closer to seeing them, and holding them, and hugging and kissing them, staying up late watching movies with them. Just, finally being able to know that you're doing this for something, you're doing it for the both of you."
