you can do it. you've done it before.
just one and two and three
i know you feel like you're sinking. i know you feel like
you've lost, but you're blinking. you're sweating. you're crying.
you've had your heart shatteredbroken and it hurts.
[so does breaking a bone.]
but bones heal
and so will your heart.
[just give it time.]
because no one can do it for you. no one
has your lungs or your voice or even the cells on
no one is making you gasp and shake and really wish
you were wearing less right about now.
you are alone.
but that is okay.
you are okay.
there is no bright light at the end of the tunnel
because you're not there. you're standing right in
a meadow and you may feel lost but remember what
your mother told you:
"you are never truly lost."
because you have to. because those gasps are waking
up the house and if you do it enough you'll probably
puke. breathe because you made it.
do you hear your watch ticking?
that's not time running out
that's time moving forward.
call your own cadence.
because you are on your own.
there are no more broken hearts tying you
down or hymens you wish you could mend.
you are walking along time alone and you're
bawl if you have to.
let all your makeup run off and stain your sheets.
this you healing. this is you letting go.
wake up your parents.
wake up your sisters.
wake them all up and let them know
you are breathing.
you are here.
you made it
now all you have to do is live.
