The sun had set and was rising again as I slowly opened my eyes, a pain radiating throughout my stiff body. I tried to sit up, but stopped with a gasp as I felt a sharp ache in my chest. Jace!!! I called out in my mind trying to use our connection, but it felt as if it didn't go through. I frantically looked around, searching for Jace as I forced my body up. "Jace!!!" I called out desperately Hoping for an answer. I received none. The last thing I remember is Jace saying he was sorry....where could he be?? Then I stopped. I spotted a large pool of blood, and In that pool of blood there lay Jaces insignia, A roaring lion pin. I sank to my knees, unable to stop staring at the pin, soaked in a crimson pool of liquid. All I could picture in my mind was Jace, and this mysterious black figure who's face I couldn't seem to remember. Who was this figure?...but then it hit me. I looked up and saw the bodies of my family my friends and my comrades, all dead in the street, men, women and children alike. All dead.
The town was utterly silent, not even the wind stirred as tears began to fall down my face. I'm the only survivor...even Jace is gone... I mourned in my mind, not daring to break the silence with the exception of a soft sob as I saw my beloved mentor near the steps, cold and still. I trudged over to her and bent over, taking off her amulet and tearing a piece of cloth off her robe to wrap the amulet in. I tucked it away in my side pouch I always carried and picked up the Guardian Staff of Healing and then walked over to Jaces teacher and took the Guardian Sword of Protection and his amulet as well, tucking it into the cloth along with my teacher's as well. I went and found the sheath, hastily discarded to the side and sheathed the sacred relic inside it. Even though Jace isn't here to take it, ill protect it as well... I thought solemnly, unable to even feel emotion as I stood there numbly. I went into the TownHall and gather a spell book then went to my house and gathered a few things. I packed all this in a pack and strapped the Sacred Sword to the side opposite my sword and strapped the Staff along side my old staff, then threw my small messenger bag with my supplies and spell book onto my shoulder.
I walked out of the town and turned around to face it before sitting down and just staring at it, a knot in my throat from the sorrow that overwhelmed me. Struggling to keep my voice from breaking I spoke "Goodbye my fellow comrades, good bye. MY fellow Angels. old bye my town and home, and..good bye my Jace..." As I mentioned Jace, a small break in my voice escaped but I continue. "Incinerate." As I said this a large fire erupted in front of me. "wind Blast" I murmured, and a strong wind blew from behind me, spreading the fire out over the town, and burning it, and the bodies inside it, to ashes. I watched as my past fell to ashes and when the whole town was ablaze I whispered good bye one last time and turned, walking into the forest.
I continued walking, not sure of where I was going, but knowing I wanted to escape this immense grief I felt. The person I loved most in the world was gone and I didn't know how to handle it. I just knew he was gone. To lose all I loved, at my age, was unheard of in this supposed time of peace...for at this time, I had only been created 14 years ago...how could I deal with this? I shook my head. I may be young but I was created to protect. No matter how young I was, age didn't matter. I was to protect. As I had been thinking while walking, I had lost where I was. I stopped and looked around before realizing something. I was being watched. "who's there?" I said sternly, looking straight ahead. I then heard a sinister giggle, and saw a pink hair girl step out of the shadows. She smiled at me and said "Why hello, you look a little roughed up dont you? Im Yukki!" She said with certain air to her. She flashed me a grin and I couldn't help but see the tell-all fangs. I sighed. What have I gotten myself into...
~Several years later~
As It turned out she was a pretty strange chick, this Yukki, but we became friends over time. She helped keep my mind off of the deaths of my loved ones and I kept her company. It all worked pretty smoothly. Today I was sitting outside, bored. The days seemed to just blend together now, and I found my self missing Jace more and more, wondering what we would be doing if he was still here. I thought about the Staff and Sword locked in a chest by my bed, and fiddled with the key to the chest that hung around my neck. The next thing I knew Yukki appeared "Snow quit thinking and come on. I met some one interesting today!" She said as she grabbed my arm and started dragging me. "Yukki!! Cut it out! Not today!" I struggled to get out as she dragged me along. "what? So you can get in that depressed state you get in when you start fiddling with that damn key around your neck? Hell no!" She said tartly, rolling her eyes.
After she finally stopped dragging me, she had taken me a good distance outside her home, a large castle from a hundreds of years ago. I looked around "Why are we out here?" I snapped, obviously aggravated. she grinned, her fangs showing as she then pointed at a figure I hadn't noticed in the shadows. I instantly tensed, unused to anyone but Yukki after so long. The figure simply scowled at me, his dark blue hair hiding part of his face as he looked me up and down, as if registering who I was in his mind. I looked at him, doing the same, noting how he had the reddest eyes I had ever seen. something about them gave me a sinking feeling in my chest. "Yukki...who is this?" I asked. she smiled and said "Oh, his names Demon!" She said nonchalantly.
