lament
the night had set over the facility hours ago, the once busy shops and filled bays now silent and still, the numerous workers who crowed the streets now in bed, deep in sleep, the only few stll awake in such an hour were those who stood ever vigilent looking over the facility on the outerwalls, and the few guards who wandered the empty grounds, though there was one more who found themselves unable to sleep, to find comfert in a bed, like many nights before, and many more nights to come, the Rear admiral would spend another night with niether sleep nor dreams, just old memories and self inflicted torture.

Sitting in the darkness, far from all prying eyes, tucked away in a solitary corner no eyes ever looked apon, he sat alone stareing down at the small silver locket in his palm, his thumb shakeily running up and down the clasp that opened it, tempting himself, trying to fight the urge that defeated him time and again, and would once more prove to great as the locket slipped open and illuminated his face, the moveing images of two people apeared glowing before him, a woman and man wrapped in eachothers arms as they smiled, a music echoing gently from its interior, obviolsy digraded from countless use, but clear even still as the words slid through the darkness, the voices of two in near perfect sink singing to a child now long dead 'come stop your crying, itle be alright, just take my hand, hold it tight, i will protect you from all around you', i will be here dont you cry' as the buetiful singing played small drips of blood began to dot the picture as the locket began to shake lightly in the admirals trembeling hand 'for one so small you seem so strong, my arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm, this bond between us cants be broken, i will be here dont you cry'the picture now completely covered in blood as its light turned a red, the song singing out unhindered for a time before the lockets music fell silent as mikhails hand clapsed around it and shut it once more, his eyes stained with blood as the crimson slid down his face, stopped only as his chest quivered and his body fell forwards, his elbows to come resting on his knees.
