The new virus became known as the "Green Flu". It spread like wildfire across the United States, and communication between other countries was cut before it was known whether or not it traveled across oceans. The Civil Emergency and Defense Agency, or CEDA, attempted to take precautions against the infection by issuing safety rules and guidelines, but as the general public became aware of how serious the Green Flu was, they began rioting.
The riots soon became out of hand, and although security officers were called in from all over the country, they also succumbed to the virus. It was not long before nearly the entire United States population had either become infected or died.
NEARLY the entire population.
A few lucky (or unlucky, however you want to see it) people are apparently immune to the virus. They can carry the virus inside them, but they do not show symptoms and do not become the creatures that others have morphed into. In order to survive, they must group together and make their way across several states to Chicago, a city that has been rumored to be in a safe zone.
These survivors must use the weapons left behind by those unfortunate enough to have become infected, staying in safe houses at night and killing every infected they come across.

Rules
1. Survivors MUST work in a group. No lone wolves.
2. While romance is allowed, it is not the main purpose of this roleplay. Please don't act like this is High School Musical.
3. This is a zombie roleplay, but do not go overboard with the gore/cussing. Keep everything appropriate.
4. Just like in the games, you can have one main firearm, one melee weapon (or one to two pistols), one thrown weapon, and some first aid.
5. ALSO like in the games, there will be new weapons and ammo everywhere from people trying to protect themselves and utterly failing.
6. Play nice. Three strikes and you're out.

Special Infected
In these individuals, the virus has mutated at an alarming rate, giving them special abilities.
Boomer - Very large, bloated infected that explode when shot or stabbed. The bile can blind survivors and will attract a horde.
Hunter - An agile infected that can leap from long distances to attack survivors, tearing at them until one of them dies or is killed.
Smoker - When killed, this infected releases a cloud of smoke that can obscure the vision of survivors for several seconds. It can also ensnare survivors with its long tongue.
Spitter - Able to spit balls of stomach acid at survivors that hurt them unless they move out of the puddle of acid.
Charger - Armed with enormous right arms, chargers will single out one survivor and ram into them, attempting to separate them from the group. If successful, they will pummel that survivor into the ground until killed.
Jockey - These infected jump onto the backs of survivors and steer them into hordes or environmental hazards, attempting to kill them.
Witch - Crying, female infected that will attack a survivor if provoked by a flashlight, loud sounds, or proximity. She can maim in just one attack.
Tank - Unless the group works as a team, they will be quickly incapacitated by the inhuman strength of the tank. This ginormous male infected is able to throw concrete slabs and cars at survivors, and can punch survivors several feet.

Sadly, her plan fell apart when the infection hit.
