Eyes gape open in the morning light
While responsibility screams from the other room.
Never have days seemed not-so-bright
For the vices have risen up from their tomb.
What was once called a friend now lives an evil foe...
Controlled by disaster, that diabolical thief!
The purity in Love will no longer show;
Initial happiness was unaccompanied and brief.
The Highlight of the day has ceased to exist,
Murdered by unknown circumstances.
Masked regret cascades from self-harmed fists,
Another loss...what are the chances?
This prior duty was completely unplanned
Yet it continues to bellow from beneath the skin.
Blown out of proportion life crashes its demands
Even though all time runs thin.
With the other half gone missing and the fallback disappear,
Embarking these dreadful days,
Hopelessness peaks on broken despair
Ensuring all won't be okay.
Cold sweats drench me as the Highlight snores
And life has returned to its iridescence.
Luckily that awful restraint never existed before
And those two companions still remain present.
Such morbid concepts in my mind reside here
– Though each night holds more to reminisce –
I'd rather be engulfed in flames and feel my lungs sear
Than to head over heart this.
