I was going to save this for a while, but since today is Valentine's day, I thought I would get this out of my system. I'll tell you right now, if anyone finds this offensive in any way, please let me know. I try not to offend anyone with my entries or anything I post anyway. Please keep in mind before you read that I have no problem with relationships in any way, this is just a rant about why people should enjoy the single life instead of complaining about wanting a boyfriend or girlfriend.
Ok so this is all coming from a guy who has been in a relationship for almost an entire year. Us guys, slave every day to keep our girlfriend happy, but we don't get anything in return. Let me start off with gifts. Girls, you have no idea how much money us guys spend on gifts for you. Whether it be a birthday present, anniversary present, Valentine's gift, Christmas gift, etc, we go all out to get you an expensive gift because we love you. We're afraid of getting you something too cheap that you will dump us for not caring for you, so we are constantly draining our money for you girls, money we worked really hard for at our jobs. What about us? We are usually the ones getting cheap gifts!
On to anger. Why do you girls have to take it out on us when you're having an emotional problem? It's not like we are the ones that caused it (unless it really is a problem we caused). Anyway, you girls take it out on us, and we don't say anything and constantly take this crap. Most of the time, we don't even get an apology either, so it kind of feels like we are being abused. I know you don't mean to abuse us, but that's how it feels. Speaking of abuse by the way, we also feel that we are being abused when you constantly tell us to do things when we're tired from a long day at work or when it's been a rough day for us! The classic "I'm the girlfriend, do what I say!" phrase starts to build up inside of us. Now, we don't mind doing an occasional favor for you girls every once in a while, but when it becomes really unnecessary that's where it draws a line.
In conclusion, it just feels like we are slaves just to keep you girls happy. It just feels that relationships are very one-sided and it shouldn't be! Again, I'm not saying that relationships are bad, if you even have someone in your life that you love/like, good for you! I was just speaking out for us singles and why the single life isn't as bad as everyone says it is. Again if you find any of this offensive in any way, please don't hesitate to tell me and I will remove this entry. By the way, I hope you all had a good Valentine's Day, and remembered that it's not just about loving your significant other, it's about loving your friends and family as well. I love all my friends and I wish you the best of all days:heart:! Anyways, thanks for reading and I will talk to you later! Bye!!
