Chapter 3: When clouds grow pink It was another one of those days, I thought to myself... One of those days you will never forget, a memory that will be hung in your mind like a painting on a wall holding a quote with sentimental values… It all started the next morning… “Good morning Will” shouted Destiny, as she grabbed me by the shoulders and shook me with such energy. At the time I was having an amazing dream and I did not want to wake but I couldn’t help but open my eyes to see what evil would do such a thing to a man in the morning. “ahhhh-imma-wakee” “stop-shakkin-mehh” as she let go of me she said “breakfast is ready hurry up and get dressed before it gets cold!” My first thought was what time is it, but then I realized she said breakfast and before you knew it I was down dressed and ready to see what she managed to cook up this time. She has always somehow managed to throw together such amazing meals. When I had stepped outside our tent I smelled an amazing aroma smelling of fresh fruit, eggs, and what smelled like some kind of beacon. My eyes and mouth watered but I didn’t want to look like a pig so I whipped my mouth. “Wow, you have really outdone yourself this time destiny.” ”You didn’t have to go to all the trouble of making a full course meal you know.” “I know but still, I enjoy cooking.” I sat down near the fire and picked up a bowl of fruit and dug in. Every day I recognize how much more amazing she becomes like a flower whose petals shine in the moon and glow in the sun and whose stem grows taller every day. “What a beautiful day today is” said destiny. I didn’t quite know what she meant; today felt the same as yesterday, except for the breeze. It was much cooler and moist than yesterday. Destiny had scooted against me and wrapped one arm around mine then pointed at the rising sun. “You see?” she stated. I looked up at a divine sunrise surrounded by pinkish purplish clouds, and suddenly became breathless. Destiny laid her head on my shoulder. “Long time ago my mother would take me to the top of a hill to watch the sun rise, she said the pink meant that you would be surrounded by loved ones that day and the purple meant you would be surrounded by people who would protect you.” I didn’t know what to say, I couldn’t tell if she was upset or not but she was warm, I wrapped my arms around her and told her that her mother was a smart and wise woman. We sat there and embraced that amazing morning before we had to repack our things and decided to start walking once more. “The next town is not much further ahead” said destiny. I looked at her as she pointed off into the distance then looked ahead; if you looked hard enough you could see what looked like a small blurry black dot. I was a bit surprised because what seemed like a day was actually three days of traveling. “I here this next town has hot springs.” “Are you serious?” I was a bit excited because nothing feels better than relaxing in nice warm water. Destiny grabbed my hand and rushed us off into the distance towards the next town, I knew that today was going to be great day…
