BELEGARTH!! The first day I jumped out onto that field I had no clue what I was in for. I thought I had signed up for tap fighting, and had shown up with a few friends and nerf swords. There were about 40 fighters sitting around getting ready, and apparently this was also the first day of a dozen others. A young woman pulled us aside to teach us the rules(not going to write them out, but will slowly explain over time) and to tell us to pick ourselves a "fighter name". After much explanation, I was told not to wait too long for a name or I might be given one like the dude in gladiator armor named "CheeseHeart." Being an avid gamer, I immediately knew my name....STEELE!!!! I hopped onto the field with anticipation and with a pair of loaner swords, as the nerf weapons weren't allowed. After fighting a few battles, I realized this game was not for the weak, and required much discipline and training in order to be good. I am 6'4, 180 pounds, and a natural athlete, so I expected to walk out and crush everyone, I was SO wrong. This wasn't a game full of weak nerds, and even though the weapons were covered with foam, they still left intense bruises. This was DEFINITELY what I was born to do.
