Shayde walked back to her apartment, furious with herself for being so stupid. How could she have believed him? What about him made her think that he could be any different? That he could even have the slightest possibility of being something special? Even as she pondered over these questions she knew the answer, even if she didn't want to admit it. She loved him. She loved the way he walked, talked and smiled. She loved the way he could make her smile even if she was having the worst possible day of her life. She wanted to be in his arms and hear him say that he loved her and no one else, but she didn't think it was possible anymore. After these past few days, he had been very distant, and she had always wondered if he really meant every single word that he ever said to her. Her doubts grew as she thought about him more. She paced back and forth along her hallway, trying to make the thoughts of him go away. At last, she thought of a better way to make her mind go blank. She walked back into her room, shut the door and drew the curtains, and turned on her mp3 player. She stuck the ear buds into her ears and changed it to her favorite song as she laid down on her bed and closed her eyes. Hopefully she'd fall asleep and fall into a world that made better sense.
