My half brother, Trace, is only 7 1/2 years old. about 3 years ago we found out that he was half blind. He has a disorder where the lens of your eyeball naturally falls off. The lens is what makes everything clear so we can see everything. Well at the time he was only about 4 1/2. He went to another doctor after finding out the bad news and they said he could not have the surgery that could fix his sight until he was 8 years of age.
They wound up giving him these HUGELY thick glasses. He can see sort of ok with them now. He is even more afriad of the dark, and being by himslf than he ever has been before. I have to help him with his showers and a whole lot of other things.
We got news recently that Trace was going to start his first stages of preparing for surgery soon. I am so ready for him to finally be able to see agian without glasses that poeple stare at him for wearing. He was really wanting to play Pee-Wee Football last year and it broke his little heart when my Dad had to tell him that he couldnt because of his glasses. Cant wait till he can finally get what he wants.
