Over the past couple of months, a disturbing and annoying new trend of quoting people in your glow thread to summon them to play your glow has become popular.
I'm making a public statement: please do not add me to your summon list. If you do, I will politely ask to be removed.
I receive literally hundreds of notices each day. There are enough junk notices that sometimes I miss important ones. I already don't leap to My Gaia every time I get a notice bubble in the header because of the spam. If I cannot keep them under control, I will either have to ignore them completely or turn them off - thus defeating whatever benefit you might have been going for in adding me to your summon list.
Please note that when I ask to be removed from your summons list, that is ALL I am asking. That is ALL it means.
It does NOT mean:
- you suck
- your tank sucks
- you and your tank suck
- I hate you forever and ever and you are a horrible person
- your deodorant has failed and you have superhuman BO
- I'm never ever ever going to play your tank ever again
- all of the above
If I'm already playing/bumping your tank, unless you give me good reason to stop, I'm going to keep right on doing what I'm doing and continue to play/bump your tank.
(Side note: if you play/bump my tank, you're already on my short list of tanks I head for first.)
It's also really insulting to be summoned to another glow while I'm in the middle of the somewhat futile task of pimping my own. To add insult to injury, it's REALLY REALLY INSULTING when I'm summoned to a glow that isn't even yours, to a tank of some third party who has never played my tank, while my tank is in the middle of a glow. Stop and think for a minute about what kind of message that sends.
If you want me to see your glow while my tank is glowing....bump my glow thread. I exchange bumps with other glowing tanks like that all the time. It's mutually beneficial.
So please, leave me out of your quote lists. If it works for other people, great, but it does not work for me.
