This is about a guy who lives in the future that time-travels back just because he can. And unlike some other guys, he isn't a total jerk about it.
Broken Kaku
Almost eight months had passed since Kaku Epsilon and his adopted family had brought the Soulless Wanderers and the Heartless Warriors a crippling blow to their bases. The group had to avoid being followed, double and triple back, and eventually lose themselves so hard that finding Durema and Gaia again was a stroke of luck more than a plotted action. Regardless, Kaku had been locked in his quarters unless needed to pilot his ship, even after his ship was reunited with the Midnight Star. All he did was transfer his personal items from his smaller ship to the bigger ship, and locked himself away again. The others were worried about him, but knew better than to force him to talk. It had been a victory to them, but to Kaku, it had been a devastating fight. Once they landed on Durema, He only spoke to tell the others to get off his ship, and that he would handle the repairs necessary.

Once the ship's maintenance was complete, Kaku once again called for a house meeting, and looked quite solemn as the others arrived in his kitchen. "Good, you all made it." Kaku addressed the group, Misty, Cyris, Prael, Colt, Katrina, Jim and Symphonia. Prael had brought the triplets, who were playing with their toys, and Symphonia had brought Nyachi and Ellie, who were being played with by the triplets. "As for our discussions, please remember that there are babies present so no cursing."

"Says the man with the dirtiest mouth," Prael said while giggling.

"Oh quiet you." Kaku added, seeming less amused and more heartbroken seeing the children there. "I have assignments for all of you. Misty and Cyris, you're going back to Barwinte. A lot of our prisoners here escaped down to your world, and they'll need all the heroes they can get." Misty and Cyris both looked at each other with wide eyes, then nodded slowly. "Jim, I need you to go back to the Dream Realm Knights, and cover our tracks. Tell them that you were trapped in a dream, or something. Just make sure that they don't figure out you've been working for me."

Jim stood up with a chuckle. "For all I'm concerned, you've been working for me. So no one will ever know. I have to get back right now, though, or they will suspect something." He walked out and disappeared back towards the academy.

Kaku nodded in approval. "Of course, good point. Prael, Colt, you two be the best parents this side of the galaxy to your toddlers." The two stood up and glared. "I know, you're already doing that. Keep up the great job." They smiled at each other and gathered their triplets and the toys, before heading off upstairs. "Symphonia, you take care of those chibies and the faerie." Symphonia nodded, letting Nyachi and Ellie climb all over her. "I'm going to also need you to figure out any meetings I have to attend to with my friends. You can handle that, though." She nodded, and began to leave. "Thanks, darling." Kaku waved to Symphonia, who continued to leave, blushing a bit. "Ah, Misty, Cyris? You're dismissed you know."

Misty stood up and saluted, blushing profusely. "Ah! Of course sir!" She ran off, tripping over her own two feet. Cyris followed behind her, rolling his eyes.

Kaku stayed silent as the others left, while Katrina rolled her eyes and stared at him. "Don't think I've forgotten you." He muttered while Katrina began to get up. "I'm just trying to figure out how to word this."

Katrina paused. "Kaku, what is it? If this is about the noodle incident," she started, before shaking her head. "Dude, snap the hell out of it. You can't just keep me here all day with your silent treatment." She growled and lunged across the table, picking Kaku up by his neck. "Talk to me you jerk!"

Kaku sighed, before reaching out and petting Katrina's cheek. "Are you happy with being here? Being stuck with me?" He said softly, causing Katrina's face to turn a soft pink with a blush.

"Ah? What? I'm not stuck here." She said calmly, nibbling on her lip. "I choose to stay, because I can't bear to think of what will happen if I leave." She said calmly, lowering Kaku to the floor. "Look, why can't we just go find Kisa and bring her home? That'll make you feel better."

Kaku closed his eyes and looked down. "I can't. Well conceivably, I won't be able to see her alive again."

Katrina gasped and wrapped an arm around Kaku's shoulder, walking him outside. "Er, could you explain that to me, in private?"

Kaku nodded, pushing open the door outside of the kitchen and walked Katrina far enough away that even LISA couldn't listen in on them. "Kisa becoming my daughter, hell me even finding Kisa in the first place, was a mistake. Are you aware of how Time Travel works?"

Katrina nodded slowly. "Sort of. I do know about the rule of if you would die in the past, you and your time machine are returned to the time you came from, and you will no longer be able to return to a period of time of about 100 years from when you died." She paused, before blinking. "However, I fail to see what this has to do with Kisa."

Kaku sighed. "Have you ever wondered why I never travel to Durema's past?" Katrina could only shake her head. "Durema has only been inhabitable for a few hundred years, at least by humans. Before that, some massive cataclysm destroyed all life on this planet. As an animal lover, as well as a pretty smart scientist type, I wanted to find out what happened. I kept traveling to Durema's past, and kept getting killed by something, until I was traveling back to the planet's first mammal's evolution, that being the earliest I could survive this planet's atmosphere. As I explored the land, I eventually came across a creature that presumably evolved into the tiger, and her cubs were all what appeared to be baby fully mammal tigers. They were under attack by a much larger predator, which I drove off, and saved the group. Unfortunately for me, I was able to drive off the predator by being eaten sometime later, so I locked myself out of Durema's past. I eventually discovered Gaia by accident, and decided that if I couldn't go to the past of my own world, I'd stay in the past over there. Honestly, it was less of wanting to be a past dweller and more of a need to make Durema full of all sorts of life. As I said, I'm an animal lover. Well, once I was convinced to go to Gaia by a friend, I discovered that one of those tiger cubs had been dragged back to the future along with me, forcing her to evolve into a modern day Tiger-girl. That's where Kisa came from." He paused and let out a soft sigh.

"Even if you wanted to, you couldn't go back for her." Katrina stated for Kaku, who was on the verge of crying. "I see, Kaku. Couldn't you send someone else back there?"

Kaku shook his head. "No, I don't even know the co-ordinates I found her anymore. Besides that, I know better. She's been out of her own time for so long that I doubt she'll be able to survive living there. Even if you went back to the exact moment she was with me before dying, she would still die in the stomach of that predator."

As Kaku finished, a fist punched him into his house from within the forest. "******** you, old man." A female voice muttered from within the woods.
