A few Books.
A little writing since I plan on being a writer.
Adam sighed and sat up in his bed, the alarm clock rang in his ears and he slammed his fist down on it to shut it off. Jeff slept overhead on the bunk above him and snored loudly. Adam thought of the night before, how sleepless it was, how he stayed up late reading things posted on the internet, forums, wikipedia pages, everything he could think of and got nothing on the Demon. Adam swung his legs over the edge of the bed and yawned. The morning sun cast it's light into the bedroom, creating light and shadows. Adam thought of the two, light and dark. Can't have one without the other. You needed light to create dark, and without light, the dark would have nothing to be compared to, and thus thought of as not dark. It was a strange thought for Adam, having never thought of something so philosophical before in his life. He'd just rolled through the years, avoiding fights, making few friends, never leaving safety and staying in his home. He walked out of he and Jeff's room and into the kitchen corner. It was next to the door and the only thing seperating it from the living room was a small counter that seperated carpet from tile. He poured himself a glass of milk and thought of his friendship with Jeff.
They had been friends for many years now, so many it seemed unreal. They had gone though highschool and college together, even getting the same dorm room. Adam had always been the smarter, more intelligent of the pair while Jeff was the jock and thusly the muscle. Now they lived in the same apartment and were often seen drinking and hanging out. While Adam rarely spoke and Jeff woulnd't shut up for ten minutes. Adam thought it was annoying, trying on his nevers, and always managed to zone out whenever Jeff talked. Adam almost always felt himself drifting away in his Zone, where he was the master of all and the God of civilization. This would never be true, he was too... Small. Yet he managed to gain power through his voice. A deep and almost hollow sounding voice. Most people listened, it was the voice of a leader, and others bowed to it. He was told to enter radio or something along the lines of speaking, but never found it to his liking. Speaking was never his thing, he'd have the perfect sentence in his mind, but ******** it all up when it left his mind nad got to his mouth. He had a great voice, but not a good mouth. It didn't cooperate too well with anything. He had tried fixing his problem with his voice by talking slowly, but that made his words come out wrong too. He had since stopped talking much unless he had a girlfrined, then he pretended to be someone he wasn't or ever going to be.
Jeff, on the other had, had muscle tearing his shirt open and would just walk by a store and pick up two girls, each on one arm. He did this normally, as if it was nothing to him. Adam only had one girlfriend in his life who came to rely heavily on him. When they broke up, she had killed herself. He thought it was a selfish and stupid thing to do. He had regretted breaking up with her, however, and he felt like he'd taken someone's life. That was another one of the reasons why he didn't talk, it made him remember her and how much he'd talked with her. That was long behind him, about four years, and he still felt the pain in his heart. But he pushed onward, trying to forget and toss the memory away into the abyss in the back of his mind.
Adam pulled a jug of milk out of the fridge and poured a glass. He downed it in a second and licked his lips. The milk tasted a bit strange, but he thought it might just be his head. He walked to the television and flipped the channel over to the news. He heard the tales of the murders that had halted all the pleasant thoughts in town. Now it was all talk of who got killed, what the friends were doing, how much they had hated the dead person. Even the dead kids got the last one from other children. Bullies mostly.
The news anchor spoke clearly over all of his thoughts.

"This just in, another body has been found in a James Monroe's apartment. Reports say he'd been gaming when his top half was ripped off by the murderer. Police say there are teeth marks covering his body, suggesting possible cannibalistic habits. The body's top half has yet to be found, but one can speculate the killer had taken the top half and consumed it.
"This is just the first killing of yesterday. A young boy was found dead in the water wth his entire arm and shoulder missing completely. He was found floating near the edge of the pool face down. All parents are advised to keep their children inside at all times and to watch them closely, take them to work if you have to. Curfew has been set at nine o' clock, but that may change in the near future. If you have any reports on who the killer may be then please contact the police. All teens are also advised to travel in groups of at least four.
In other news a local barbershop was set on fi-"

Adam sighed and heard footsteps, then the strong smell of Jeff's cologne. He turned his head and saw Jeff sipping from a cup of coffee. He was looking at the blank T.V. and shrugged his shoulders. He was just glad to have survived. He spoke with his deep voice that had made so many woman swoon.
"If we told them it wasn't a person and was actually a monster, I'm sure we'd be tossed into the looney bin."
"Yeah," Adam said. "No good point in telling 'em." He tightened his grip on the milk glass and saw Jeff reach down into the glass. He pulled out a single eyeball. It's nerve snaking behind it. Adam stared at the eye and dropped his glass. In small letters, a message was written across the sclera. He sweeped it out of Jeff's grasp and read the tiny words, what he read frightened him down to his very core.

I know.

The hairs on his arms stood up, his hands shook uncontrollably and he felt his grip on the eye tighten until it popped. The juices flew everywhere. Adam leaned back in the couch and closed his eyes. He drifted away from the human world....
...And into the Demon's world.
Red mist, twisted trees, a demon moon. These were the things that surrounded Adam as he drifted into the Demon world. The moon shone it's red light, giving everything a grim tone. The mist, red as blood and just as thick, blocked his vision, covered his feet, and snaked up to his groin. He moved slowly until he found himself in a clearing eerily similar to that of he and Jeff's encounter with the Demon and it's feast. He saw a dark figure, something that was demonic in nature, drift across the mist and come closer to him, he tried to move, but found the red mist had become solid around his legs, The snaking no longer occured and it stood still where it had moved. The demonic figure approached him and what came out of the mist wasn't what it's shadow had told him. It was actually a very humanoid figure.
The Demon had taken the shape of an old man who had white hair slicked back. He wore a black suit with the coat tails swaying in the wind. If it hadn't been for the eyes, Adam would have relaxed. The eyes were the demon eyes, a vertical slit with an ocean of crimson surrounding a single yellow pupil in it's center. The eyes terrified Adam to no end, made him feel uneasy. The Demon-man stopped right in front of Adam and offered his hand, when Adam didn't take it, the demon-man grinned.
"Of course," He said, pulling his hand away and tucking it into one of the coats pockets. "I can understand under these... Circumstances." The Demon-man snapped his fingers and a table appeared and the Demon was sitting. It had happened so fast that Adam didn't realize he was sitting too. The red mist had made a circle around them, Adam could see the ground below. There was grass the color of blood and the dirt looked like rotted flesh. He could even smell it.
The Demon presented a single piece of parchment made of old papyrus that was browned around the edges. An inkwell was beside the parchment and a feather pen sat in it. The Demon gestured to it and showed his white, perfect, teeth.
"Sign it," He said. "And I'll let you and your friend live." The Demon folded his hands and propped his legs on the table. "I'm sure you'll know what to do, mortal."
Adam looked at the contract and read it.

I, Adam, under the oath of the Devil Kan-Ket, hereby sell my soul for my own safety along with my friend Jeff. From this point forth I shall never speak against my overlord Kan-Ket and spread his word across the human population to gain a cult following. Under these circumstances I shall follow under penalty of death and seven million years in hell-

Adam stopped reading and stared at the Demon again, who smiled wider showing instead of the perfect teeth, sharpened ones. Adam picked the pen out of the inkwell and wrote on the papyrus. He slid the parchment to the Demon who took the paper and read what he'd written. The Demon's face went red with anger and he slammed his fist down on the table. He ripped the paper in half and let it fall to the ground.
"Go ******** yourself." Adam said and he stood up. The red mist latched onto his arms and legs, spreading him like an eagle. The Demon's human body exploded, sending parts of the body flying into the forest of black, twisted, trees. He came up to his full form. The head was like a work with rows and rows of sharp and crimson teeth. The arms and legs were long, slender, and pale. The chest was heavily muscled and in the center was one large demonic eye. Much like the previous ones, it was vertical with a single yellow pupil surrounded by crimson.. It's flesh was pinkish-white with long red scars running down it's body. The Demon grabbed Adam, who was frozen partly in fear, and party because of the mist that held him in place. The Demon grabbed him by the throat.
"NOBODY DENIES ME, KAN-KET, THE KING OF THE RING OF DEMONS! DO NOT TEST ME PETTY MORTAL! I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND CONSUME YOUR PETTY SOUL!"
Adam struggled in his imprisonment and turned his head away from Kan-Ket, who jerked it back to face him. Adam built up his nerves and said: "Bite my bag, a*****e!" Kan-Ket wailed in his face, sending spittle onto Adams face, the Demon fit it's mouth over his body and Adam knew this was no nightmare. This was the real thing. His head was in the demons mouth and one of it's teeth scraped against his cheek, drawing blood.
Adam felt a shaking feeling on his shoulder. His head was all the way inside the Demons maw and he could feel the teeth graze against his leg through his jeans. He slowly prayed in the maw and then he felt another shake on his shoulder. Soon he was all the way inside the maw and he could feel the demon about to chew, then the shaking was a full on blow to his head.

Adam awoke, startled, in his bed, Jeff kneeling in front of him with a dented frying pan. Adam felt the side of his cheek and felt a warm liquid. He knew it was his blood, the tooth had grazed him. He looked at Jeff and started laughing. He was covered in saliva from Kan-Ket's maw and even Jeff grinned when he saw it.
"Thanks for denting the frying pan, I coulda died." Adam said after he caught his breath. "I wouldn't be covered in saliva, I'd just be a pile of gore and meat n' stuff." Adam relaxed in his seat and slept.
This time, there was no demon.
