It seems like so long ago I started high school.
In a fresh, new program where everyone was considered to be the elite of the entire city.
Where the world was a bright star, luring us into the cheap thrills that wanted to suck us in and take hold.
Seize us in a kingdom of lies and decay.

It seems like so long ago,
I opened my eyes to the deceit that was this program,
Broke away and was free to see the happiness that awaited me at a school without a program, but a promise for a better day.

It seems not long ago,
I made friends with people that genuinely cared, that I could have a good time with, that I made memories with.
It seems like these people were the new light attracting me to a fatal fire,
But I soared above it all and brought them to a new horizon with me.

It wasn't long ago,
my senior year started with a bang.
It wasn't long ago,
I finally was given claim into the heart of the man of my dreams.
It wasn't long ago,
but it will lead into forever.

It was mere hours ago, senior award night took place.
In those mere hours, a revelation was bore into me.

Happiness is genuine when the love that surrounds you is genuine.
As the cords were placed around my neck, honoring me for excellence in high school, as the principal marveled over how beautiful I looked, felt, and radiated, I realized every choice I had made through high school had been exactly right.

As the staff sobbed tears, watching their children blossom into the beautiful adults that could humor a crowd, and also themselves, while still maintaining a manner of elegance and beamed a bright future so passionately throughout the room, I knew I had made the right decision. I had come to a realization.

It feels so good to be a Warrior; where we pride ourselves on our excellence, because we are indeed, excellent.

I only wish you had been there, you would've cried too.
