Skye's eyes fluttered open. One moment, she had been standing up, the next she was on the floor, her chest constricting, her entire body in pain. Looking up, she saw her father looming over her, his glamor flicking. "D-dad?" she asked softly, clutching her head as her head pounded. "Yes, it's me sweetie" his voice was filled with sadness. "Daddy, why are you sad?"
"Because I just watched you die." Skye was taken aback. "I d-died?" Her father gave a slight nod. "Of a heart attack too. Your weak heart finally caught up on you."Tears streamed down Skye's face. No, she couldn't die. She had to go back to Xavier, and help him. But her body was heavy. It felt like lead. Was this how it ended? Ruyk's deep voice brought her from her thoughts. "I'm going to break the rules. I don't want my only child to die. You can't die on me." He knelt down by Skye, who by now could barely lift her head up. His scythe gleamed in the dull florescent light. "Daddy, what are you going to do?"
"Save you." The scythe swung down, cutting something from her. Whatever life she had in her body suddenly disappeared, and she was dead. Ryuk worked quickly, trapping her soul and sewing it back to her body. She would have stitches on her back, in a silver-blue thread. Her father was breaking all the rules of their kind. You do not allow a soul to go back to its owner. You do not reanimate the dead. But he wouldn't care about those now. Not when his only daughter was dead. Working quickly, he stitched the soul back on in a pentagram shape. Skye sucked in a sharp breath. "That is not helping." She was back. Ruyk pulled her into a tight hug. "Lets get you back home sweetie."
