Through my lashes, I watched Sweeney lead Bluebeard out of the room. It was getting tough to maintain my "dead" act. When at last I heard the sound of boots ascending the wooden staircase to the barbershop above, I burst out laughing, surprising my husband and first-and secondmates. Mrs. Lovett giggled, then tittered, then burst out with a belly laugh along with me.
"Lemme up, hon," I said, pushing away from Vash a bit so I could sit up.
"Captain!"
"Jaquie, you're okay!"
Scarlette and Sakura pounced, knocking me back down.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It was a fake-out. Got a bunch'a blood from the grinder, kept some in my cheek, an' got Mrs. Lovett ta scream. Worked perfectly," I grinned. "Waste'a good blood, though. Wait." I held a finger to my lips and cocked my head to the side. I heard the soft, rasping sound of Sweeney's silver razor scraping away Bluebeard's blue beard, then the faint slshh of metal cutting through soft flesh. A second later, Bluebeard's body fell head first from a trap door above us.
"Awright, then. Time ta go," I said, standing. "Mrs. Lovett? Lead the way, if ya please."
We returned to the empty pie shoppe and found it not quite empty anymore. Mr. Todd stood by the stairs, his white sleeve now stained crimson. With him were Toby, Anastasia, Rachel, and Tai. Tai was actually lapping at the bloody cloth, while Toby polished the razor that had done the deed. When we entered, Tai's gaze turned hungrily to my shirt.
"Hey, Mr. T, d'ya have a spare shirt I could take?" I asked. "This 'un's toast."
"Of course. Mrs. Lovett, would you go upstairs and fetch Ms.--er, Captain Sparrow one of my extra shirts?"
"Of course, Mr. T. Top shelf, right?"
"Middle one. Oh, and fetch another cleaning rag, if you please?"
"Sure thing, Mr. T," Mrs. Lovett called from halfway up the stairs.

Short chapter, I know, but I also know all my readers out there wanted to know whether Jaqueline was dead or not. I'm tired at the moment, so I'll post a longer chapter once I get some comments from y'all.
