Physical Abilities

  • Physical Fitness

      Tres weigh's 245 pounds and is in amazing shape. Strength and speed wise he is extraordinary for his weight class. Possible feats include maxing out on bench at 600, maxing out on dead lifts at 1200 pounds and maxing out the overhead press at 300 pounds.

      Tres has acute physiological responses making him quick to respond to external stimuli. He can't do superhuman feats like dodge a bullet in flight but he does seem to have a developed an increased amount of neural connections due to his psychic abilities allowing him to process information related to combat (aggressive humanoid movements) and perform complex physical movements as if they were rehearsed.

      So for instance, Tres could move to perform a wrist lock as an opponent attempts to grab his lapel slightly quicker and with more accuracy than the average individual. These reactions are within the realm of human possibility but with an unusual amount of precision.

      Tres is a very tough individual who has survived all manner of damage and lived to tell the tale. However, he is a human being and as such being shot, stabbed, or otherwise maimed can result in heavy or fatal damage. He seems to have an increased capacity to whether blunt force trauma due to his fighting experience.


  • Ecstuffuan Family Fist

      Tres never really agreed with his fathers sporting style of combat, nor did he inherit the magical of spiritual skills of either of his parents. Tres Style however used the martial teachings of both his mother and father, and what he learned on the military battle fields to form a vicious no-nonsense style of combat that focuses on getting in extremely close quarters with the enemy and neutralizing him as quickly as possible. This works well when fighting against supernaturally powered opponents because he gives them little to no time for them to focus there abilities.

      Besides the crippling strikes and devastating grappling techniques, the style also incorporates self defense style small joint manipulation, Stealth, and weapons combat utilizing short range weapons such as various forms of the knife including kerambits, butterfly daggers, push knife, etc.

      Tres has no qualms about cheating to win a fight. He will use any means necessary to survive the battle and destroy his opponent. If there is a gun available to use or any other type of 'underhanded' weapon, he will use it. However, Tres does not carry such weapons because he views it as weakness and dependency. He first chooses to perfect himself against any weapon of war because he realizes that while steel and stone have there limits...he does not.

  • Sleight of Hand

      Tres can draw small sized or smaller weapons quickly, often without the opponent being able to see him arm himself with the weapon. Tres has several weapons other than the visible ones hidden about his person. This ability allows Tres to reveal a hidden weapon that he had drawn without the opponents knowing during a movement of the hands.

      Tres no longer uses weapons of steel. He feels that he has evolved beyond such implements. Now he uses this ability with his 'crystal construct' power, often to quickly forge shards of crystal that he uses to attack as soon as he creates them.


  • Throwing (knives)

      Tres never liked the idea of using a firearm as he felt that not enough of his body was doing the work of attacking with the weapon in order to feel confident or even rewarded by using it. To fill the void of long range attacks, Tres studied the art of throwing knives. Tres's ability to aim is increased due to his developed senses and body control. Tres can accurately utilize any thrown or ranged weapon within its maximum efficiency range. Tres can throw a throwing knife a distance of 20 feet accurately at the speed of an average fast ball. Within accurate ranges Tres may target large area's of a target's body such as an arm, chest, or head. However, smaller areas such as hands, fingers, and feet are much harder and nearly impossible to hit on a moving opponent.


  • Psychic Body

      Tres's cells have the same composition as a normal human except that their design has incorporated the same astral-psionic material that makes up the psi-crystals that he previously could only conjure using psionic powers. Now, his body can metabolize this psionic crystal material. Now microscopic bits of psionic crystal flow through his blood stream. His heart and lungs have mutated to account for this change in blood composition now pumping with a stronger and more rapid heart rhythm to pump the new silver like blood through his body.

      These psionic-crystal laced blood cells deliver oxygen and nutrient to Tres's muscles and cells at a far more efficient rate while removing fatigue causing poisons in the muscles faster giving him increased endurance. Tres's body now has the ability to break down food better than the average human giving him the additional energy to power his increased psionic abilities.

      This psionic material can act as a strong medium to transfer psionic energy throughout Tres's body and has increased his ability to use both meta-creative and psycho-metabolic powers. Tres has an increased measure of memory due to the crystal flowing through his body. He finds it easier to recall information due to his increased ability to forge neural connections via the psionic crystal laced through his body. His physiological reactions and coordination have also increased a small degree due to his bodies increased ability to transfer impulses and commands via psionic energy. Tres has an incredible awareness of time, this in combination with his increased memory allow him to memorize not only an opponents movements, giving Tres a potential tactical advantage.

      The crystal flowing through his body adds about 20 pounds of weight to his body. However, the additional crystal in his body does not slow him down or make him less agile due to the fact that he is able to manipulate and control that crystal at will.

      The more astral contruct like aspects of Tres's body give him an increased resistance to negative energy based attacks, such as those that would drain his energy. He also has a heightened resistance to poison and disease because his body is now less like an organic entity and more like a astral one.

      Essentially this ability has Four overall affects:


      • 1: Tres has a small increase in physical reaction time, giving him the ability to respond to a recognized attack with a complex counter. Such as responding to an opponent grabbing his lapel with a perfectly executed wrist lock without hessitation.
      • 2: His body is a superior capacitor of Psionic Energy, giving Tres an increased (listed below) ability to manifest psionic powers. Tres also now naturally produces psionic crystal within his body and with a small amount of focus he can produce this crystal outside of his body (detailed below).
      • 3: Tres has an increased awareness of time and an increased memory, allowing him to memorize an opponents movements and pinpoint the timing of their attack's giving him a tactical advantage.
      • 4: Tres has a heightened resistance to poison, disease and negative energy based attack due to the fact that he is now a partial astral construct. Tres can still be damaged by poison's and disease but he can resist their affects for an additional post than normal. Tres also takes 75% of the damage he normally would from negative energy based attacks such as 'Inflict Wound'.




    • Isshouken

        Isshouken meaning 'Crystal Fist' is the name Tres has given to his left arm. After the mutations Tres suffered after his battle against deitric he found that his left arm had the highest degree of mutation. His entire left arm had seemingly been replaced with a copy of his left arm created with psionic crystal that melded smoothly with his body at the shoulder. This psionic crystal was previously only able to be conjured by mentally drawing ectoplasm from the astral plane and infusing it with psionic energy, now Tres's body seems to produce it naturally. Tres later discovered that his left arm was not completely composed of psionic crystal but was actually a meld of flesh and psi-crystal.

        The arm bends at the joints like a normal arm would and possesses the same strength that his left arm would have (and also the same tactile sensation). However the crystal that composes the arm is supernaturally tough and can be used to block or grasp blades or heavy strikes. The arm however, is not invincible and with sufficient damage it can be broken.

        The arm has the hardness of a slab of natural rock equal thickness but weighs the same as his normal left arm. Despite being hard, Psionic Crystal gains strength from the fact that it is not brittle like crystal as one would expect crystal to be but instead is somewhat softer, like steel. From far away the arm appears to be smooth like glass but upon closer inspection one can see the rough crystal matrix that makes the surface of the arm appear somewhat scaly.

        Tres can command his arm at will to grow jagged spikes of sharp psionic crystal by spending one power point (this does not count as a power). This will cause his arm to look like it is literally composed of large shards of psionic crystal. He can also command his left hand fingers to morph into razor sharp three inch claws. This takes no concentration or major psychic power and can be done on command. This function is considered a physiological function so it takes as much concentration as breathing. With the use of the alter crystal ability he can shape his forearm into a blade or shape his forearm into a buckler or medium sized shield by spending 5 power points.

        Upon grasping someone with Tres's left hand by the skull or face, Tres can on command drain them of their mental energy and funnel it directly into his left arm for use for psychic powers. This can cause headaches, migraines,and wooziness in the opponent depending on the length of contact. This requires focus and often leaves Tres vulnerable to attack. Tres may drain two power points from an opponent for every complete post length he is able to maintain a grapple on there skull.

        The arm does not conduct heat, electricity or magical energies well but is great for conducting Tres's own psychic energy.

        Despite the fact that Tres can use the crystal left arm to defend against armed attacks without the arm being cut, if these blows are too heavy like any gauntlet or bracer defense the arm can be pushed aside if the block isn't supported. Also the arm can be broken via the proper application of leverage, such as an armbar. If the arm is broken, then it would hurt just as much as having his right arm broken, however the arm heals at a faster rate, though not at one that would have it heal during the battle in which it was broken.

          Energy Siphon

            For each post Tres may absorb two power points per post from his opponent by drawing upon the energies output by any living mind. To maintain an energy siphon Tres must maintain a grapple on the front of the opponent skull for an entire post. The first post Tres maintains this grapple the opponent likely won't feel anything, perhaps a sense of forgetfulness. However, the second post the opponent will experience a light headache. The Third, a painful headache. The fourth, a full blown migraine. The Fifth post the opponent will begin to feel a sharp lightheadedness and the sixth the opponent will have difficulty forming thoughts and focusing. Tres may only maintain this ability a maximum of six post.


            Arm Damage

            Tres's crystal left arm makes for a powerful weapon and defensive implement. It is hard yet flexible like steel, making it so that the crystalline limb can take a tremendous amount of damage. However after a prolonged assault targeted directly at the crystal limb, faults can be formed in the arms crystalline structure and cracks can be seen noticeably developing within the arm. At this point the arm is in danger of being broken and shattered, giving way to the sensitive material at the arm's core. If this material is damaged then Tres will experience a tremendous amount of pain. However Tres is typically careful to keep this from happening through the use of his 'crystal skin' ability.

            The arm can also be broken by taking advantage of its arm like structure. if enough leverage is applied to hyperextending the arm, the arm can be broken like any other.





  • Psionics (Egoist/Shaper)


      Psion's at the start of there day engage in a period of meditation that gathers all of the latent and chaotic psychic energy within there mind into one reservoir. This reservoir of power are known as 'power points' and they can be used to manifest individual psychic abilities known as 'powers'. A psion has a limited amount of power points for use per day and utilizing all of those power points causes the psion to lose there psychic focus and enter a state of psychic enervation. If Tres ever reaches '0' power points he becomes dazed, fatiqued and uncoordinated. For this reason a psion must take care to moderate there ability usage.

      To manifest a psychic power, a psion must be allowed a reasonable amount of focus. Because Tres is a martial artist he can reasonably focus while moving or grappling but he cannot be in a striking exchange while manifesting a psychic power. Only a single standard power can be manifested in one post and only certain powers can be manifested as a response or counter to an opponents action. Note that Immediate powers require little focus and may be manifested during an exchange. Tres may also choose to manifest two immediate powers in a single post in exchange for one standard (though these powers may not be manifested simultaneously).

      These powers that can be manifested in this way are known as 'immediate' powers, but these are often very limited non offensive abilities. Immediate powers can be manifested as a counterattack due to them not requiring a lot of focus. Tres can end any power that last a lengthy duration early at will.

      Whenever Tres augments an ability or uses an ability that cost 9 or more power points he must roll a 4 sided die. If this four sided die lands on one, Tres enters a state called "Psychic Overload" in which Tres is dazed and begins bleeding from his nose. This makes him vulnerable for one post.

      Tres begins the match with 35 power points.

      • Hammer

        [Standard - 6 points]

          Tres may charge his muscles with psionic power, increasing the strength of his strike. This will change a glancing blow into a jarring strike, or a jarring strike into a knockout blow. Tres may also use this power to increase the power of his armed attacks similarly. When this power his manifested it shows itself as Tres's body possessing a subtle emerald green glow. This is ambient psionic power gathering within Tres's body and at the moment Tres strikes the opponent that energy will gather into the muscles to increase the power of the strike. If Tres misses the attack then the power is expelled and it must be remanifested. This attack increases the momentum of the strike and can set Tres off balance.


      • Brace

        [Immediate - 2 Points]

          This ability allows Tres to briefly charge his body with psychic energy while visualizing a mountain to literally anchor himself to a surface. This technique often helps Tres to defend against a sudden force threatening to knock him prone. However, this technique if misused can actually increase the amount of damage Tres takes from an attack by preventing Tres from rolling with the blow. To use this technique Tres quickly assumes a stance with a low center of gravity. After using this technique and until he changes his position he becomes nearly immovable like the mountain he visualizes preventing him from being knocked on the ground. Despite making himself immovable he does not prevent himself from being damaged in any way. This ability last for one post.

            [Augment - 1 point]

            Tres may extend the duration of this power by one post.


      • Alter Crystal

        [Standard - 1 Points]

          Tres may interact with other bodies of psionic crystal. This includes, deep crystal, astral construct material (the material he can metabolize), or any other crystal that is psychically resonate. Tres may interact with this material in several ways. He may shape the material into any basic object (cube, cylinder, etc), weapon (Kerambit, Short Sword, Dagger, etc), or tool (axe, crowbar, etc).

          Altering a crystal weakens that crystal. For example, While a crystal shard may last for two post, altering its shape causes it to dissolve after just one. There are however types of crystal that won't be weakened by this powers use such as Tres's arm or his mind blade. Tres's arm isn't weakened by Alter Crystal's use due to its morphic nature that allows it to be used as a moving limb. Tres's mind blade is a more so a figment of his imagination than a pseudo-physical phenomenon like the astral construct material that he metabolizes, so it can be morphed easier through the use of that imagination.

          Tres may only alter a crystal into a shape that shares a volume equivalent to the crystal original shape (So for example he may not shape a 7.5 long thin crystal into a 6 foot long sword).

          As such, a basic crystal construct (manifested as a 7.5 inch throwing knife) may be altered into a small weapon of a similar volume, such as a kerambit or an ice pick. Shields created with the Alter Crystal ability don't shield as well as the crystal formed with crystal skin. A field of crystal may only be altered into one shape one time, before that crystal dissolves.

      • Crystal Skin

        [Immediate - 4 points]

          Due to Tres's new ability to metabolize psionic (astral) crystal inside of his body, he can cause crystal to grow along areas of his skin by drawing the microscopic bits of psi-crystal through his blood stream and layering it on top of the skin. He may do this anywhere on his body but his head or his torso. This quickly formed growth of crystal along the skin can protect Tres from a single armed strike before shattering.

          The crystal skin can prevent a weapon from breaking through the skin but Tres can still feel the shock of the blow leaving behind internal damage. The crystal remains in place until it is either reabsorbed or broken. He may only cover one limb at a time, such as his forearm or shin.

          Tres can also use this ability for offensive purposes, such as layering his forearm with a crystal bracer before striking the opponent to produce a more heavy blow. The crystal produced by this technique may be altered with the 'alter crystal' ability but when doing so Tres may only mold the crystal into a shape that is equivalent in volume to the volume of the original shape. The crystal weighs about as much as bone per ounce.

          This crystal is created using a very primative matrix, making it difficult to reshape until after it has been augmented.

          [Augment - 3 point]


            Tres may shape the crystal that he produces from his skin automatically as if he were using the 'Alter Crystal' power. Tres often uses this to produce a punching knife, boot knife, or knee spike.





      • Crystal Construct (Basic)

          [Immediate - 3 point]

            Tres can quickly create a shard(s) of crystal that can be manifested in a basic shape. This ability at its most basic level allows Tres to produce a one inch wide and 7.5 inch long crystal blade, weighted for throwing. Tres may manifest a crystal either from his hands or from his mouth. The crystalline object is created from psychic energy holding ectoplasm snatched from the astral plane in existence. They contain complex crystal matrix's in which psychic energy can be seen pulsating through the lines. This object dissipate after two post length's after creation.

            [Augment - 6 Points]

            Tres may increase the duration that the construct remains in existence by one post and may create an object twice as large as the basic crystal shard.


        • Crystal Construct (Pillar)

            [Standard - 6 points]

            Tres may create a large upward jutting spike of crystal by striking the ground with his left hand. This large pillar may either jut straight or diagonally at a 45 degree angle up to a maximum of 2 feet in front of Tres. The pillar can range from 3 to 6 feet tall. The pillar grows at a moderate rate that can be dodged pretty easily as long as a person see's it growing. Tres typically uses this move to set up the pillar behind an opponent he is about to tackle. The crystal is very hard, but will shatter if a 200 pound man is driven through it or if it is struck by a hard weapon. A crystal created in this way may not be affected by Alter crystal due to the fact that it is very weak.




        • Crystal Construct (Bed)

            [Standard - 6 points]

            Tres may create a 72 inch and 3 foot tall rectangular bed of crystals in front of him by extending his hand towards the ground. The crystals are haphhazardly formed, brittle and easily broken. As such it can't be affected by 'Alter Crystal', the bed of crystals however can be used as a decent stepping stone or as something that Tres can drive his opponents through. The crystals aren't particularly sharp, but the crystal bed is hard enough to increase the impact of whatever move Tres is using to put the opponent through. Tres may not make this construct in an occupied space.



        • Lions Roar

            [Standard - 10 points]

            Tres can use his psychometabolic powers to release a powerful cry that releases a burst of sonic energy from his mouth. This burst of sonic energy carries a sphere of sound, intense enough to strike the opponent with a powerful shove. The shove is powerful enough to knock a medium sized humanoid prone and the intensity of the sound is enough to disorient an individual with normal hearing senses for a short duration (a single post). This burst of energy travels 25 feet before dispersing.


        • Boost
          [Immediate - 3 points]

            A growth of crystal expands suddenly out from Tres's shoulder blades. This growth is designed to convert psionic energy into force allowing him to briefly push his body in a straight line forward through the air a total distance of 8 feet. The sound released by this technique sounds identical to the propulsion one would hear from a small jet. The power produces a notable amount of force and can be used to increase the power of a physical attack while setting Tres off balance and briefly out of control of his momentum.


        • Up the Walls

          [Standard - 4 points]

          Tres can alter the way his body interacts with the world, allowing him to briefly run about vertical surfaces, balance on incredibly light and thin objects, run across nonsolid surfaces, and generally move with a supernatural amount of grace. This ability last for two post, usually allowing him to complete a single action before his body reverts to normal. This ability does not make him any faster or physically lighter, but can be used to soften his landing from a harsh or large fall.


        • Mind Strike

          [Standard - 10 Points]

          Tres may charge his Mind Blade with a massive torrent of Psionic energy. Using this amount of psionic energy causes a massive amount of stress to Tres's body forcing him to take a Psionic Overload roll. The ability manifest in the form of a glowing energy crackling with emerald sparks overwhelming his mind blade. The power is unleashed when Tres strikes an object with his mind blade, unleashing a massive blast of concussive energy increasing the strength of the blow as if it were a blow delivered by a man of twice Tres's strength over a 2 foot wide surface area a distance of 6 feet. If the mind blade breaks the skin or delivers a wound on the opponent during the Mind Strike then the opponent is also dealt a mental blow, that can render a person with normal will power dizzied and discombobulated making it difficult to focus for a total of 1 to 2 post (A few moments, the opponent decides).

        • Call Mind Blade

          [Immediate - 3 Point]

          Tres may psionically call out to his mind blade. Because the Mind Blade is a part of his personality he maintains a telepathic link to it. By calling out to his mind blade, the blade responds by telekinetically moving to his grasp at incredible speeds. The Blade must be able to travel in a straight path without anything between it and Tres for this power to work. Tres may not use this to attack something by pulling his weapon through them.

        • Clap

          [Standard - 5 Points]

          This ability manifest itself as a subtle distortion around the hands until the hand meet there proper target. At that moment the power activates.

          Tres can use a slapping attack with both hands aimed at the ears to release a psionic attack. Clap modifies the palms of the hands to act as high functioning speakers that produce a concentrated burst of air pressure and sound that when focused into the ear drums can cause tremendous burst of sound that only the individual on the receiving end of the attack can hear.

          This massive amount of air pressure and loud sound produces something akin to about 80 decibels charged directly into the ear. This attack can potentially break the ear drums causing temporary hearing loss, loss of balance, bleeding, etc. The attack can damage these traits for about five post before they begin to subside. The attack is only effective if contact with the ears are made, the attack can be done with one hand but is only about half as effective as when it is done with two.

        • Create Sound

          [Immediate - 0 Points]

          Tres may create a volume of sound that rises, recedes, approaches, or remains at a fixed place. He may choose what type of sound the power creates when manifesting it and cannot thereafter change its basic character. The volume of sound created is dependent on the psion's power. Tres is powerful enough to create as much noise as 10 humans. Thus, he can create virtually any sound within that noise level. Tres could at maximum create the sound of a gun firing in the immediate area. However, the only way Tres usually uses this power is to create background music during his fights.

        • Examination

          [standard - 1 point]

          Tres suddenly exhales a thin concentrated but powerful burst of air, utilizing the power of his lungs fortified by psychic energy. This produces a dense and harsh puff of air that is aimed towards one of the opponents eye, similar to the exams given by an eye doctor. The air puff produces a sudden and uncomfortable increase of pressure against the eye potentially surprising and/or disorienting the opponent. This move can only be used in close range and typically only grants a minor tactical advantage.

        • Bite

          [Standard - 6 points]

          This ability shows how psychometabolism can be used to temporarily morph the body. In a single post time length, Tres develops the snout of a canine animal and in the following three post Tres can bite down with jaws lined with shark like razor sharp teeth with about the same biting force enough to rend through flesh and break small bones. These jaws can snap close in a single instance, slamming through bone and rending skin. This biting force has a similar weakness to a crocodiles in that the muscles developed to open the jaws aren't nearly as strong as the ones that close it. That means it is very possible to hold his jaws shut easily.






Equipment


  • Clothing

    Tres wears normal clothing without any additional protective benefits.

  • Fal'lain Corp Soap Shoes

    Tres shoes unlike his clothes however are somewhat different. While these fashionable sneakers are light and flexible but give Tres a strong grip on the ground, perfect for warriors who enjoy grappling and wrestling - they also have specialized arches that are made so that Tres can use them to grind on metal railings.

  • Mind Blade (Confidence)

    Tres's mind blade is a crystalline weapon that is composed of psionic energy solidified with astral construct material, very similar to the material that Tres metabolizes. However, the mind blade is actually a manifestation of an aspect of Tres's personality.

    The mind blade's standard form is that of a emerald green crystal that has the vague shape of a Roman gladius sword (Total Length: 35 In, Blade Length: 2.23 ft. Hilt Length: 6 inches). The Mind Blade takes this form to take advantage of Tres's love of infighting but with a single use of the 'alter crystal' power the weapon can take the shape of any other medium to small weapon. The weapon is incredibly sharp, due to it being supernatural in nature and has the hardness of a masterwork weapon of the same shape. To Tres the weapon is light and perfectly balanced, but to other's the weapon would be incredibly heavy and unwieldy.

    The weapon can be called to Tres's grasp at any time due to its inherent telepathic connection to Tres using the 'Call Mind Blade' power. The weapon is weighted for throwing and can be used as a long range weapon by throwing it at an opponent.

  • Sword Back Strap

    This leather strap holds Tres's Mind Blade close to his back so that it doesn't interfere with his movements.
