Prologue
It was a rainy, bleak night. This may not seem odd for anyone who has seen rainy days on occasion, however in this land of Petrena, which has not seen rain for 3 centuries, it is a rare sight. A lone, cloaked figure walks across the barren wasteland, intentions unknown. The figure heads toward an building with ornate, ceremonial markings on it. The figure opens the building's front door, takes off the cloak, revealing the figure to be a woman, and kneels in front of an altar. "The children of fate shall soon appear, and our land will be shrouded in darkness. They are the keys to the light. One will be isolated, one shall endure a great sorrow, and one shall lead them all. I must guide these three souls as best as I can." The woman stands and heads through a door into a bedroom. "For now though, I should get some rest. Worrying about the fate of this land will get me nowhere." She undresses, gets into bed and drifts off to sleep.
