Well I've been going through elfish english dictionaries for a while and I finally settled on a name for Elcia's father. This has taken a great deal of time because I don't know much about him yet. Other than: he is human who was raised with the Elves since his family was killed when was just a small child. He spends a great deal of time in the human world ever since he proved himself a capable hunter/warrior and essentially worthy of being an honorary elf with some actual meaning behind it.
And Aislinn doesn't seem willing to really say what he does there or she doesn't know.
But his name is Hescil, it means "winter one" and he chose it himself when he came of age.
Oh he also has a pet wolf, not sure how that happened but I'm guessing it had something to do with all his self-imposed harsh training in the backlands during winter.
His love and affinity for winter and it's ice and snow are probably what compelled him to choose the name. The only other things his loves more are his wife and daughter.
Also Elcia's name finally has a real meaning, and also a correct pronunciation and spelling. My little black haired green-gray eyed half elf is really Élcëa said Ehl-see no ah at the end technically. Which I like since her nickname all these years has been Elci anyway.
Oh and it is literally star ten so it is reference to something about ten stars I'll figure that our later, though it could also be star fence depending on how you translate it.
I wanted to keep the name as much as I could but still give it meaning....without inventing my own language (cus I don't have that gift)
