My First RP Character Ref Sheet
((As an important note, this sheet is rather outdated, was made when I was just starting to get used to RPing, and was never properly proof-read. It may have a few 'issues' or 'inaccuracies'. It also has a few 'personal notes' that you are free to ignore. Unfortunately, I don't have the patience to proof-read and update it yet. Perhaps some time in the near future.))

All right! My very first one! When I first tried to RP online my character tended to be godmoddy due to only ever LARPing with my friends under our own over the top rules. So please, point out any inconsistancies and feel free to give advice. And if I can add anything let me know!

Character Name: Korsall (adopted name)
Gender: Male
Age: 101
Race: Human?
Occupation: Wanderer
Class: Battle Mage
Weapon(s): Dual swords (made using an alloy to make it as light yet as durable as possible with a focus on durability) and a wooden shield (alternates between dual wield and shield and sword. Makes shields himself.).
Skills/Magic: Due to longevity has been able to become proficient with swords after originally focusing on magic. Various Elemental and Misc. spells

Description: Medium length black unkempt hair. Brown eyes. 6 ft. 1 in. tall, 200 lbs. (check what body type that is) Appearance and physique is late 20s. Keeps in good physical condition. Usually wears dark or unusual clothing (He purposely seeks out clothing that is out of the ordinary from time to time). Always wears a necklace with a dragon motif on it (with a small ruby set in the center) with a ring strung just above. Has a wrist compass that he wears most of the time. Wears his two swords on his back in an 'X' fashion with his shield hanging from his side.

Personality: Untrusting though not unkind. Is rather arrogant when it comes to his fighting skills but can be rather humble when it comes to other things. Is usually in a positive mood but circumstances can change that. Is hard to get angry, but there are those few things that will set him off big time.

Bio: Was born into a normal family and led a normal life. Until it became evident that he had stopped aging at around 24 years of age. Unnerved by this, friends and family as well as bosses and co-workers began to regard him strangely. Eventually he decided that he couldn't put up with this any more. So he packed up his things and put all but his essentials and a few of his most important belongings into a storage. Having personally known the storage owner for some time he managed to convince the owner to allow him a lifetime (or at least until he returned) storage space even amidst the unsettling circumstance of his lack of aging. He paid the owner most of his life savings and kept just enough to get by until he could find another job in a nearby. Never managing to shake the feeling that others were getting a weird 'vibe' from him, resulting in them regarding him almost the same as those from his hometown, he moved on once again getting further and further from the town he knew so well.

Eventually he came upon his first actual city. Running low on money he knew he had to make some sort of money so he started asking around to see if any jobs were available. It was during this search that he came upon a woman that looked to be in her early 70's. She told him that she didn't know of any jobs, but if he was interested in learning something interesting she would teach him. Knowing that more skills would help in the long run he agreed as long as he could keep searching for a job. The old woman told him to come back the next day and so he camped outside of the city for the night and returned the next day. Upon meeting up with her she told him to follow her to her house. After arriving and getting settled in she asked him if he thought he had what it took to learn magic. At first he was unsure as he had heard that it was extremely difficult to learn even basic spells. After a stern look from the old woman he agreed to give it his best. Eventually he managed to find a job in order to make enough money to get him to the next place (and then some in case money became hard to come bye) he spent his mornings working and his evenings learning. After discovering he seemed to have a penchant for magic he spent the next 27 years studying it. (eventually having to put up with people being unsettled by his lack of ageing once again) Untill his teacher one day finally died of old age. However, by that time he had learned enough to teach himself from that point on. Finally having no reason to stay, he once again gathered up his savings and moved on.

For the next 6 years he simply wandered from town to town going wherever he felt to be the 'most interesting' direction. All the while practicing his magic (mostly tightening his grasp on lightning based magic as that was what he found most difficult). Eventually he happened upon a large town with a festival going on. After asking around he found that he had stumbled upon a village of blacksmiths and that every 3 years they held a festival to show off the various blacksmiths most recently completed works and that the blacksmiths put their works on display in front of their houses. Some for sale, some not. However, showing off steel weapons alone doesn't make a festival. In the months prior, various blacksmiths (usually lesser skilled ones that don't have anything of appropriate skill to put on display) prepare dulled swords to use in a sword-fighting competition with the winner having the option to choose one sword for sale to claim for next to nothing. Having no sword skill whatsoever he decided to merely watch the matches held from day to day. During that time, watching the swordsman duel each other he began to contemplate the application of magic in such duels. From this was born his desire to pursue a secondary skill in swordsmanship. After the tournament was over and the champion was granted his choice in sword at a greatly reduced price he went to each of them in turn (starting with the winner) to see if they would be willing to teach him. The champion and runner-up both declined him however the third place winner agreed to teach him if he showed promise. After borrowing one of the tournament swords he followed a few basic moves shown to him by the swordsman. Convinced of his aptitude for the sword the swordsman agreed to teach him more thoroughly.

Once again he began training a new skill. After travelling and training for 3 years, the two came back to the town of blacksmiths to participate in the tournament (it took some coercing before he finally agreed). After coming in 28th and the swordsman coming in fifth they once again set out. Repeating this process for the next 12 years he got better and better with the sword eventually adopting the sword and shield stance (it was during that time that he learned to whittle and make his own shields). On the 12th year the swordsman told him that he would no longer teach him and that he was lucky he trained him for this long. Entering the tournament one more time they both made it to the top 16. Once the top 16 bracket was made, it was revealed the the two had been paired up to face each other. The swordsman had a great smile on his face as he looked at him. "Hahaha, consider this your final test from me! When we fight, don't hold anything back ok?". When the two met in the ring the fight ended in loss for Korsall while the swordsman went on to claim 5th once again. When the tournament was over, the swordsman searched him out and offered him some money to buy himself a real sword. A gift for a great match. He gratefully accepted the offer and bought himself his first sword using the money the swordsman gave him as well as some of his own. Even though the swordsman was no longer training him, he continued to travel and return to the village to participate in the tournament for the next 12 years finally reaching a best of 8th place. Content with his skill he bought the biggest map of the area possible and marked the town on it in the hopes of maybe returning some day. So once again he wandered from place to place.

Once again over the next seven years he wandered from place to place. It was during this time that he began to experiment with enchanting his sword blade. Eventually he came upon a town where a group of mercenaries were lodging for the time being. After spending a few nights at an Inn he finally learned of the mercenaries when he spotted two of them sparring just outside of town both using a dual sword style. After the two were finished he approached them and asked if either would be willing to spar with him. At first both declined rather roughly. But after some taunting one of them finally 'agreed' to take him on. The fight ended up being a draw (him from lack of skill, the mercenary from exhaustion) but he was still intrigued by the style of swordplay. He admitted that if the other hadn't just finished a sparring match, the mercenary would have won. He asked if there was any way he could convince one of them to train him. They said that he would have to talk to their leader, and so he did. It was agreed that the mercenaries would train him under two conditions. One, he would have to travel with them as a mercenary himself. And two, he would not get paid. (though food and drink rations would still be provided. And so he traveled with the mercenaries always taking a secondary role and never actually killing. After travelling with the mercenaries for roughly 10 years they finally told him they couldn't teach him any more than they already had and that he no longer had to stay with them. With that being said, he once again set off on his own, finally noticing that after all these years he actually seemed to have aged somewhat. He was pleasantly surprised by this. At least he didn't have to endure this forever. Over the years since, he has been betrayed and deceived many times leading to him developing an untrusting nature. Anywhere he stayed too long, people began treating him as a freak and an outcast, forcing him to move on once again. He has also been involved in many fights, be it with thieves, brigands, mercenaries (yes, some have been so put off by his lack of aging that they wanted him dead), drunkards, assholes (all in all, random attackers), and even the occasional sparring partner. Though he never lost, he never fought anyone of particular strength (unbeknownst to him) leading to a bit of arrogance. However, he is still quite skilled and should not be underestimated.

Personal Quote:
Tomorrow is just another day...

Fave Food Type: Anything he hasn't had before. (with exceptions of course. For one, he hated durians from the moment he smelled them)
