Gonna try to encourage myself to keep writing, this is usually fail stuff so please go easy if you see this...
Stars shone brightly in the sky. Flashes of light could be seen from an approaching thunderstorm. The trees over a small building rustled in a light breeze.
Inside, the ries of a woman in labor could be heard. Soon after, the cried of a newborn child could be heard. Then the sound of another small, scared, cry could be heard.
The mother held her two children close to her, as the midwife prepared the sleeping areas for them. She had been in labor for hours, and it was a good thing that the midwife was around at the time. She was so weak she could barely move.
She looked at her son, cuddled in her left arm, and softly told him "You shall be called Ryo. Ryo Dracosin. You will be as handsome as your father, and as hard working as your mother." She smiled and kissed the boy's forehead.
Then she turned to her daughter, tucked comfortably in her right arm. She kissed her and said, softly, "You shall be called Rya Dracosin. You will be as free and stubborn as your father, but as caring and loving as your mother."
The midwife took the babies from their mother, who fell asleep shortly after. The midwife then placed the children in their newly created beds, formed from dresser drawers and old pieces of quilt.
For the slightest moment after being tucked in, they opened their eyes slightly. The fireplace's light was dim, but was enough for the midwife to see glints of light purple in their eyes.
Fast forward seven years to the same location...
People bustled in and out of the small building. Situated on a trade road, it meant business for any person who decided to build a place on the road. Anything from an inn, to a store, or even a simple resting shack.
This building was an Inn. Hot meals, rooms, a small stable, and even spirits for those wishing to wash away their worries made this place a quite popular stop.
A small girl with deep purple eyes and shoulder length dark purple hair came running around the side of the building, from the back, carrying a bucket of water. She set the water on a small stump outside the building, so that travelers could wash their hands quickly in the water before entering the establishment.
A small boy of similar looks but with shorter hair, ran a horse back to the stables, situating the horse in a stall with some food. it was a small stable, but traders got the stalls, while others got the posts to the side of the stable.
The children both ran in through the front door of the Inn, back to the small kitchen, where their mother was stirring something in a pot. She grabbed two bowls and spooned out some hearty looking stew into them. Then the bowls were handed to the children, and then ran to the front of the Inn, where the tables were.
There they gave two traders some food, in exchange for a small amount of currency. They took the currency and put it in a small box under the floor boards back in a room behind the kitchen.
and that's all i have for now...
