Wind swept love

A soft wind blows across a desolate field.
The dead leaves that litter the ground rustle softly.
The object of my deepest love lays silently below a tree.
A knife is wedged between her ribs,
My heart laying in her arms.

A short gust of wind blows and rocks the tree.
A small branch falls from the tree and falls upon the ground.
The knife is removed and she sits up.
My heart begins to beat in her hand.

A light breeze picks up the leaves around her.
The knife gleams in her hand and she stares at it.
She lifts it to break what was given out of love,
And my heart still beats for her.

The air stills and all is quiet.
The blade falls without warning and a soft noise is heard.
The last dying beats of my heart resound.
My will to live now gone.

Soft splatters of blood pitter on the floor.
All my life and love now fall to the dirt in rapid flow.
I regret nothing more than my own folly.
I still love you and always will.
