Unfortunately, yes. And it causes a lot of problems.
I see it as a list of rules that man "must" follow to get right with God and to be able to get to heaven.
Ultimately, religion is man's way trying to get to God.
But the relationship that we are able to have with God because of Jesus, that is God coming to man.
When Jesus came, He was not trying to create a new religion. He was bridging the gap between man and God so that we would be able to know God and to have a relationship with Him.
I walk with Jesus and hate religion.
