It's something I'd like to keep going, so I'm hoping it won't be my last ; A; lol
Anyways, I went camping in the mountains the 13th-18th with my friend Mary c:
The first day was awfulllll :c My mom sent us up in the morning to try to find
a good spot, but there weren't any in the shade. So we tried to set up our cool tent thing that looks like this:
but we didn't know how to use the tie-down strings to make it stable in the wind

And it got windy, so we had to take it down and just leave the frame up. The entire time we were struggling to put it up and deal with the wind, these old people set up lawn chairs and watched us |: I was really considering giving them the finger.
So basically, we sat in the sun all day waiting for my parents to come up after work and I got a really bad sunburn. :c It's peeling now.
Then my parents came up and we put the tent thing back up. They put our camper in place and everything, and all was going well.
Mary and I were playing cards and waiting for it to get dark enough for a fire, and then the wind picked up.
The tent thing blew over and bent a pole for the frame! So we couldn't even fix it ): And then, the awning on our camper broke and one of the poles that hold it up bent, the metal snapped, and it flew up over the top of our camper! My mom was so mad she cried because it will be super expensive to fix. She was even talking about leaving the next day.
So the next morning, they started fixing it at like 7:00 am (I was trying to sleep mad )
but we got lucky enough that someone had left in a shady spot that had wind cover! So we just moved there instead c:
After that, the rest of the week was smooth sailing.
Mary and I went tubing
and jumping off cliffs into the river
and then my mom wanted me to take some pictures, so we did that.
I felt pretty ridiculous wearing a dress while we were camping so she could
take pictures of me...
On the last day, when we were jumping off the highest cliff, we met a hitchhiker named Porter c: He left Boston 6 months ago, and was just backpacking around the country. He was going to try to hitch a ride to Fort Collins (close to where I live) but he saw a lady one her motorcycle crash, so he was waiting for the ambulance to get her. He decided to stay the night with this other kid in the campground and was going to leave the next morning. So the next morning we decided to give him a ride on our way home because I was passing through Fort Collins anyways c: And then after we dropped him off, we went home. Now I'm just waiting to leave again on Thursday for another week of camping! Woo!
