Chel lynne woke suddenly in a cold sweat. It was the same nightmares she'd had since she was a young child. They had never made much sense. Just screams and fire engulfing her. Recently however, they were getting worse. They were more vivid now. She could almost pick words out of the screams. And there was a new element, ice... lots of it, and a face with eyes that blazed.
She buried her face in her hands and wept softly, not wanting to wake her family. After awhile she stretched her fingers out in front of her. They were long and pale. Not surprising since she her self was long and pale. Some claimed she had a slightly blue hue to her skin. Her hair too was the sort of jet black that could be mistaken for blue in the right light.
The murmuring about her slightly odd appearance began 2 1/2 years earlier, when she had out grown her parents in height at the age of 10. Now, she was nearly at the age of decision and she stood more then a head above her father.
She was somewhat relived when her figure filled in. It relieved some of the oddity of her appearance.
Looking around her, she noticed her bed was coated in frost again. She closed her eyes and let out a sigh of frustration. There was no denying her true nature. She knew that on her decision day, her decision would be made for her.
And she didn't like that one bit.
