"The castle had been a trap, baited by his own arrogance he had walked right into the open arms of Vogler. How well the dead man had known him. A sudden burning thought raced through his mind, Dantess his only living daughter, she was alone in the castle unguarded. He darted through the dark hallways and any fear that he had felt for her safety melted away with a single step into the court that Vogler had been using for his throne room. Dantess sat happily on a delicately carved marble throne, which sat in the centre of the large room. She was bathed head to toe in crimson blood and scattered around her was the remnants of Vogler's court, the people arranged like dolls in some sick, twisted version of a playhouse. She sat there in her crimson court, regal, wan, serene, she was a Queen."
