Saint's Row 2
I recently picked up saint’s row 2. First problem it was another here is a CD with a link to download steam. If you already have steam here's the code to get the game so you can play it... on steam. I don't have a problem with steam but I do have a problem with the lack of choice your given. I can't have JUST saint’s row 2 you have to have steam to saint row 2 through. It seems unnecessary. But that logistical legal stuff I don’t have power over. The game itself is fun. The missions while not exactly clever are creative. How many games have you hose a nice neighborhood with s**t to lower land values or destroy a shanty town because hobos are rising up to rebel against you? I haven’t finished the game so I can’t make judgments on the missions and game as a whole yet but I have played enough to get most of the basics. My biggest problem right now is the fact that for a computer SR2 is an unwieldy mighty juggernaut obsessed with riding the bleeding edge of graphics. I bought this computer after this game came out with a decent graphics card and it still chugs when things get dicey. Mouse aim lags and jumps. There is a critical lag in the time between when I tell my car to turn and when it actually turns which is bad when I’m driving at mach 1 down a crowded highway. And the changes to my character didn’t always load in the character creation. Lagging stuff I’ve dealt with before, assassins’ creed had a lag right up the bum but it only affected cutscenes. SR2 has the opposite problem, cutscenes do fine while the gameplay suffers. I think if I had the money to buy this for PS3 or whatever system I may someday get it would be a lot more functional.
Characters are mind numbing personal. Go from a suntanned black guy with straight blond hair to a sunburned suburbanite white girl doing the Goth look. And you can make your gang to match. My only problem is you can’t choose your gang color. I wanted green but that goes to another gang (who I now have a grudge against will not rest until I clean the streets of their filth. You get purple and only purple which was somewhat disappointing considering all the other stuff I could customize.
Overall its fun and I would recommend it to someone looking for a fun sandbox game. But on computer you’re going to need a powerful machine. And steam.
Vs match Serious Sam from Serious Sam vs. The Heavy from team fortress 2
The minigun wielding psychos from popular shoot’em up games.
