So, I had Bids and Bands tonight. What's Bids and Bands, you may ask? Bids and Bands is a night that is hosted by my school's music department. Students can sign up in groups or individually to perform throughout the evening, while there's a silent auction going on, as well as a 50/50 draw. After the performances are over, there's a live auction and thank yous and the announcement as to who won the 50/50.
I was really stressed out this week over it. I was signed up to perform in a quintet as well as a duet. The quintet was fine, I wasn't worried about that, really, we arranged and transposed the music ourselves (mainly) from midi files off the internet (fear our pro skills) and we had had a few rehearsals. The duet, on the other hand...we just got our first piece of music on Thursday, the second piece yesterday. To be performed today.
Needless to say, we screwed up. But, lo and behold, because we were playing unknown pieces....no one noticed ninja So I'm happy.
The quintet was AMAZINGLY FUN. We played a medley with three songs (Chameleon -> Techno Remix of Pachelbel's Canon -> Louie Louie) and then the Chicken Dance. We got a bunch of people beside us dancing while we played Chicken Dance.
Phwoot. It was great.
And there was yummy food, too.
Overall, very fun night, and I am so happy that it is all over since I was stressing out so much this week ;_; Just transposed the music last night for the duet and whatnot. Yeah. It was scary.
