Biography and other info:
Akaras was born in the world of devils and demons, his demonic sire and mother though were embroiled in war at the time and thus after naming their new son thought it safer (or they were possibly just too lazy) to send him to the human world until either the war was over (this was unlikely because the demon world is full of conflict and turmoil) or until their son was strong enough to come back on his own. Before he had any real memory of his homeland (in other words, he was still an infant) he was taken to the human world by a gargoyle messenger who, appearing in a rather unpopulated mountainous region wished to rid himself of the annoying screaming thing as soon as possible, searched for the nearest building or partially populated zone. Upon finding a small farmhouse, the gargoyle happily left the noisy creature at the doorstep along with a small parcel and then vanished hoping to never accidently have children. The house belonged to, not surprisingly farmers, a fairly middle aged couple who were coincidently cursed with the ill fortune of not being able to produce children for some or other reason at first viewed the strange looking devil baby with a modest amount of suspicion. After discussing whether or not it was feasible to raise a child like this they (as luck would have it) received Akaras warmly(his name was written on the basket). They then opened the small parcel and found an odd looking egg, its strangeness being its colour, which was a mixture of black and white. It also had a tendency of sticking to ones hand(this caused a small amount of distress). The couple decided to raise the egg as well as the child, being as they were farmers, it was their nature to raise things.Raising him would turn out to be more difficult than they had anticipated for aside from his already strange appearance he had another unique gift. He was highly skilled with magic, able to use powerful destructive magics, they found that magical fire is indeed more difficult to put out than a normal flame. After accidentally torching the barnhouse at one time, they decided he ought to practice that only when he went to the mountains where nobody would notice and nothing would burn down. The strange egg hatched after 5 five years into a small bird. The bird was named Chiba(because I just made it up) and was to become the pet and companion of Akaras. The couple treated Akaras like their own son, and he would have believed it were so if not for their obviously different appearance. Also, since they were people, they did have names, the father being Berik and the mother Cassandra.(sorry it took me so long to introduce them) They raised Akaras to become a farmer and he had a surprising talent for it. After reaching the age of 16, he spoke with his foster parents and decided to go on a journey(with Chiba too), promising to return in a few years he managed to appease them with promises to write letters every week.He did not actually write quite so often as he went through numerous experiences many of which were life threatening and some of which were too embarrassing to tell to his two worried parents. What happened between then and now is a tale for another time. The strange devil that he is, Akaras is quite jolly and likes to joke around.He is kind to most people and in his home village, there is not a single person that is afraid of him. At this point in time he is 20 years old. Akaras also has a taste for very spicy foods and mixes peppers and chilli into much of his meals.
Description of appearance:
Akaras has black wing-like appendages just behind his long pointed ears (somewhat elvish in appearance). He has fairly long fangs which give him a slight overbite. He has red eyes, the pupils similar to those of a cat, slitted as it were. He has a medium build and a long magma like tail, which can produce fire at will. He has claws on his hands and feet. On his feet he wears ordinary sandals with red straps. His hair is long and silver, he wears it unbound but occasionaly ties it into a ponytail or braids it. He normally wears a black hakama and black robes, most of his clothes are black, he also wears black kimono. While travelling and working in the fields he would wear a straw hat and straw raincoat. He has a habit of always carrying some onigiri(a riceball) with him, usually in his pocket. He also currently has a scar across his right eye. He has a slightly rugged appearance due to his long travels.
Chiba, his travelling companion and friend appears to be a like a miniature fat gosling with white and brown feathers, white being most of his body. He is brown on parts of the wings and a long streak from the top his head to his tail. He usually sits on Akaras's shoulder or head(even when he wears his hat), sometimes sitting in his pack or walking beside him.
Why he is called the devil ash farmer:
Akaras acquired a name for himself by using his unique powers as a farming tool and also with a bit of inspiration for spicy food. Akaras, burns the fields with magical fire before planting his crops, he then scatters his own secret blend of favourite spices over the seedlings and afterwards regular farming will continue. The difference is that all his crops are black or red, this is due to the influence of the residual magical energy. The crops are normal in every way but appearance and the fact that most of his crops are extra spicy because of the spice mixture he uses on the seedlings. Its very hard to miss a field of red and black crops, so this phenomenon was easily spotted by neigbouring farmers and travellers, not surprisingly, they were a little shocked to find that the farmer who created them was in fact a devil. Word has since spread to a few towns of the Devil Ash Farmer.
