Neither This Nor That
I suspect this will mostly be rants about politics and culture.
Yes, I understand the episcopalian/Anglican concerns about the catholic church trying to woo away their dissident members, but at the same time, I think it might be good for Catholicism to have openly married priests again after all these centuries. I am of the opinion than that the ban on marriage did the catholic church great harm. Of course it took a few centuries for the ruling to seep in on the parish level. all those local priests who were married with children didn't up and repudiate their families. Instead, locals referred to the wives as "house keepers" and no one much was upset. Things went on at the village level much as they always had. In the long run though, it lead to all sorts of complication and disruption in parishes too far from prostitution centers to have some way of blowing off perfectly natural steam. I think a loosening of the 800 year old (aprox0 ban in a darned good idea and could be the crack in the door for other necessary reforms. A little new blood and some new ideas are all to the good.

Obviously, it would be better if the Anglican/episcopalian bigots/misogynists got with the program and stopped thinking Christianity should be about condemning those different from them selves. I'm not holding my breath though, and I'd rather look at the potential good that could come of it.
