So I figured that I'd get this Marvel OC out of my head and down onto something. Please don't steal him, he took a lot of time to work on and make good.

Powers:
As a mutant, Tristan was born with the ability to absorb substances and change his body to mimic the susbtance, as well as transmute any surface within three meters to any other substance. Tristan's mutation also allows him to 'memorize' a substance for later use without having to reabsorb that substance again when needed. Tristan's mutation further evolves into him being able to absorb various forms of energy and redirect the energy, similar to Bishop. However Tristan's body takes on an 'prismatic' color and becomes a form of living energy, converting his physical form into energy. While in this form Tristan can absorb the ambiant energy around him and use it in place of food, air, or water making it possible for him to survive indefinitely. His strength is agumented by the material or energy he has absorbed, although he seems able to lift at least two tons easily in his energy form. In his energy form he possesses the ability of flight and intangibility.
Weaknesses:
Tristan must make skin contact with a material to absorb and transmute it, and his powers can only affect an area of three meters from his current position.
In his energy form, he can absorb vast amounts of energy although it is possible to overload his 'body' and force him back into his physical form as well as powerful psionic attacks. In order to prevent this Tristan must periodically discharge energy he absorbs from directed energy blasts or from around him.
Affliation:
X-Men, specifically the new X-Treme X-Men* formed by Emma Frost to perform rescue missions and transport mutants to Utopia if they are unable to do so.
History:
Tristan was born as the eldest son of three children to Marissa Elizabeth Malcolm and Tristan Malcolm Jr. His mutant powers were activated when he was caught in a car crash while driving his younger sister Tamaria to a school function. While Tamaria suffered no real injuries save a couple of busted ribs and several cuts, Tristan's mutant ability had prevented him from suffering any real damage by absorbing the metal work of the car itself. As the situation took a turn for the worst when Tristan located a gas leak that would place Tamaria, who at the time showed no mutant abilities, in harms way Tristan was able to save her by prying her from the car and running. Several weeks after the incident that manifested his mutant abilities Tristan's sister Tamaria would exibit mutant abilities in the form of generating mental illusions and detecting strong emotions of those around her. While at school Tamaria became the target students that held anti-mutant sentiments and eventually was attacked on her way home. Tristan found out and attacked the group in a metallic form, the very same form that he'd first assumed when his powers manifested themselves.
Several month later, after the events of M-Day where a great deal of mutants lost their powers, Tristan and his sister Tamaria managed to remain powered, much to the chargin of their father. The youngest member of the Malcolm family, Jacob Daniel, was envious of his older siblings being mutants and knowingly set his older sister up as having manipulated her grades on tests with her ability to sense emotions, getting her expelled from school. Unable to take the tension in her family any longer, Marissa allowed Tristan to take his sister and move out of the house they grew up in.
When Astroid M was pulled up from the ocean floor and christened as a safe haven for all mutants, Tristan made his way there leaving his sister Tamaria to care for the sick mother. However when he received word from a friend who had been keeping an eye on his sister and mother that his sister had gone missing and his mother was in critical condition, he became enraged. Emma Frost, one of the mutants that Tristan had grown close to in recent days, coming to think of her as a mentor and mother figure, assembled a team consisting of Elixir, Surge, Mercury, Cloak and Dagger as well as Psylocke to track down Tristan's sister. Despite the misgivings of Scott Summers and Charles Xavier, Emma allowed Tristan to join the team in search of his sister, naming the team 'the new X-Treme X-Men*'.
Upon joining the team he began a semi-romantic relationship with Psylocke, much to the dismay of Mercury who harbored a crush on the young mutant. However when the team eventually caught up with the group that abducted his younger sister and harmed his mother, a group of Weapon X agents, Tristan proved to be a capable field leader, easily using the groups talents to defeat the Weapon X members. Back on Utopia where Tristan's mother and sister were being tended to by fellow team member Elixir, Mercury confronted her teammate, who had by this time more or less adopted the codename Alchemist about her feelings toward him. At first Tristan commented that he wouldn't leave Psylocke even though he himself had a crush on Mercury, but with encouragement from Psylocke that they could be 'friends with benefits' he persued a relationship with Mercury. Although Mercury was not pleased with his continued physical relationship with Psylocke, the two of them began to build a healthy relationship. Currently Psylocke and Tristan are the field commanders for the X-Treme X-Men*. Later on during a mission to rescue mutants that were being wrongfully detained, Tristan's mutation was shown to be able to absorb energy when he saved Dagger from a blast from a energy weapon. It was on this mission that the team was able to rescue Mercury's former teammate Hellion, who joined the team as well for the mission.

- Tristan has absorbed Mercury's Metal Skin, Emma Frosts Diamond Form and Wolverine's Adimantium Claws.
- Tristan's energy form is similar in appearance to Majesdanians, although Charles Xavier and Hank McCoy have confirmed that Tristan is a mutant who has undergone a secondary mutation.
- Tristan's design in his first appearance is based off of Virgil Hawkins of DC Comics.
- Tristan is an Omega Class Mutant and possible Phoenix.
